Spanish travel-tech startup Drimer, which has revolutionised the way travel is sold through artificial intelligence, has successfully closed a €1.3 million funding round, surpassing its initial target thanks to the backing of some of the most renowned investors in the technology and tourism ecosystem.
Drimer, founded in 2023 by Carlos Sáez, Javier Expósito and Néstor Malet, has generated nearly €2 million in sales since its creation and is in the midst of an international expansion phase. In just one year, it has tripled its turnover from €300,000 in 2023 to €1.2m in 2024. By 2025, they are looking to multiply this figure thanks to their artificial intelligence-based model and a new line of business with a B2B focus.
An AI solution to drive the digital transformation of the sector
As part of its growth strategy, Drimer has recently launched a solution aimed at traditional travel agencies, allowing them to create complete itineraries (flights, accommodation and activities) in seconds and manage the entire booking cycle from a single environment. This innovation gives them the ability to compete with the big online players, providing immediacy, personalisation and operational efficiency.
‘The future of tourism lies in digitalisation and speed. Agencies need tools that allow them to adapt to the new environment. With our AI, they can offer a completely personalised service in minutes, without sacrificing the human touch,’ says Carlos Sáez, CEO and co-founder of Drimer.
The new software for agencies allows them to prepare a personalised proposal in minutes, where it used to take days, with Drimer it improves productivity for travel agencies by multiplying efficiency and therefore conversion, generating a better user experience for the agency's end customer.
It is a decisive step towards the modernisation of a segment that still represents 25% of global holiday tourism and has more than 200,000 active agencies worldwide (INE, 2024 / UNWTO, 2023).
Sustained growth and backing from the investment ecosystem
Drimer's proposal has attracted widespread interest from key investors in the industry. The round has been backed by Demium VC, which repeats investment with the highest ticket, as well as by figures such as Axel Serena (CEO of Bytetravel), Manel Vallet (President of Catalonia Hotels), Pablo Martín (Izertis) and Andreas Mihalovits.
‘Our goal is not only to inspire travel, but to transform it into instantly bookable experiences. This round will allow us to scale our technology, and accelerate our go-to-market strategy for travel agencies,’ says Sáez.
Tourism and digital inspiration: a growing market
The global online travel market is booming: tourism spending will exceed $1.5 trillion by 2023 and is growing at 17.4% annually, according to Phocuswright. In turn, more than 49% of Spaniards already decide their next destination based on what they see on social media, positioning Drimer as a pioneer in connecting that direct inspiration with automated selling in seconds.
The platform has proven that content creators can generate real revenue: some of its most active users have made more than €45,000 in net profits in less than 18 months.
With this new round of investment and the diversification into B2B solutions that help multiply conversion, improve their productivity and efficiency, they consolidate their position as one of the most promising startups in the travel-tech sector in Europe.
