A total of €4.3 million has been invested by Draper B1 in 2025. This amount was distributed across 18 companies, 11 of which received follow-on investments from the venture capital firm’s third fund, and 7 new companies, part of the new Frontier Tech fund.
Among the startups that received follow-on support are Arkadia Space, Vidext, and DOST, each of which has achieved significant business milestones that enhance their competitiveness. Examples include Arkadia Space’s launch of its first Orbital engine along with its commercial contract with Maia Space, and DOST’s recent funding round, which is successfully consolidating its international expansion.
On the other hand, the firm added 7 new companies to its portfolio, all with Frontier Tech technologies. These investments aim to pioneer emerging market categories created by technologies such as space tech, AI, deep tech, cybersecurity, and healthtech, among others.
The new fund, exceeding €20 million, reaffirms the confidence of over 70% of its investor base, as well as that of Tim Draper, one of the world’s most prominent seed investors, who was an early backer of companies such as Hotmail, Skype, Tesla (investing before Elon Musk), Coinbase, Twitch, and many other unicorns. The fund also retains the confidence of FondICO Global and IVF.
“Notably, in addition to our investments, this year we achieved a significant divestment and returns that keep us close to 100% profitability in under five years in our third fund,” DraperB1 highlights.
Additionally, in 2025 DraperB1 has strengthened its positioning in cybersecurity, marked by its appointment as a partner of INCIBE, the National Cybersecurity Institute.
Finally, Raquel Bernal, Managing Partner of DraperB1, was recognized last November as “Investor Woman of the Ecosystem” during the BigBAN Congress Investment Night awards organized by the BigBAN Investors Spain association.
“2025 has been an exceptional year for DraperB1. Beyond divestments, such as the recent one in Unibo, we are growing exponentially in the U.S. with Splight and Fourvenues, and in the U.K. with DOST and Imperia. With Alef, we flew a car over other cars, and with Arkadia Space, we even reached space,” stated Enrique Penichet.
