We’re thrilled to announce that Dotfile has raised €6M in the latest fundraising round, led by Seaya Ventures, with support from our existing investors, Serena Capital and Hexa. This new investment comes just over a year after our first round of €2.5M, and it marks a significant milestone in our journey to revolutionize compliance for financial institutions.
At Dotfile, our mission is to make compliance effortless for financial institutions and other regulated businesses. We know that compliance can be a costly, time-consuming, and complex process—especially when it comes to KYB verification. That’s why we created our one-stop-shop platform, which leverages AI to automate customer onboarding and compliance with AML regulations. By aggregating data from multiple sources, we provide a complete business profile in just 10 seconds.
As our CEO, Vasco Alexandre, explains: "More than $200B is invested in compliance every year, yet 2% of the world GDP is still going through the money-laundering rinse cycle, which is fueling crime. AI could change how effective those policies are, and the positive impact on our societies could be massive."
Our goal is to help companies not only meet regulatory demands but also turn compliance into a strategic advantage in an increasingly scrutinized industry.
The growing demand for AI and automation in compliance
We’ve seen firsthand how the pressure on fintech and crypto companies is intensifying as regulators tighten their grip. This, combined with the need for more efficient compliance procedures, has led to a surge in demand for our platform. Today, more than 50 customers across 10 countries—including private equity firms, banks, and fintech leaders like Spendesk, Younited Credit, Flowdesk, and Keyrock—trust Dotfile to handle their compliance needs.
Dotfile’s CEO, Vasco Alexandre, highlights the urgency of modernizing compliance: "Compliance is costing banks up to 10% of their revenue, with 1 out of 4 employees working in a compliance-related position. Many of the existing systems are more than a decade old. With competition from fintech intensifying, a transition is bound to happen, and generative AI is the tipping point."
Why investors believe in our vision
Seaya Ventures, who led our latest round, sees enormous potential in our approach to tackling the challenges of KYC and KYB. Aristotelis Xenofontos, Partner at Seaya, shared his perspective:
"We have been watching the KYC and KYB space very closely for over a decade, both from an operational and investment perspective. We identified this area as one where AI can be transformational in meeting client needs. After evaluating more than 20 products and teams in the market, we found in Dotfile the first truly innovative AI solution, combining a deep understanding of the KYB/KYC sector with stellar execution."
