Chambers FinTech 2024 has ranked Dentons as a leading law firm for FinTech expertise in Kenya, Malaysia, Singapore, Canada, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Chile, the UK and the US. Balcıoğlu Selçuk Ardıyok Keki Attorney Partnership (BASEAK), the law firm which cooperates with Dentons in Turkiye, has also been recognized among leading firms. Half of Dentons' firm rankings are in the highest Bands (1&2) and include an improved ranking in Chile to Band 1, the highest accolade.

Furthermore, the guide highlights several Dentons lawyers among the top FinTech lawyers in their respective markets. These include newly ranked Valerio Lemma in Italy and Ignacio Pera in Chile, promoted in this year's rankings to Band 1.

Netherlands-based partner Arno Voerman is ranked Band 1 "and is widely recognised as one of the foremost experts in the country on FinTech and payments," according to Chambers. "Arno is an expert in his field," a client told Chambers. "He asks the right questions to understand the business requirements and is able to deliver outcomes in line with business requirements."

Chile-based Ignacio Pera, also now Band 1, is an expert in areas including venture capital deals, regulatory matters and data protection issues. A client told Chambers that "he is a great lawyer with a broad understanding of crypto activities and business vision. Above all, he is great with clients and always makes himself available."

Jesús Mardomingo is a financial regulation specialist, and heads Dentons' FinTech team in Spain. Chambers highlighted that "he is an expert on EU regulatory issues in the financial sector. He also has considerable experience in assisting banks and financial institutions with strategic joint ventures and regulatory advice concerning e-payments and cryptocurrencies."

Kağan Dora, a Partner at Balcıoğlu Selçuk Ardıyok Keki Attorney Partnership (BASEAK) in Turkiye, "is an important figure in the FinTech sphere," according to a client Chambers interviewed. "What makes him unique is his ability to diversify and swiftly adapt to novel matters, bringing a fresh set of unbiased eyes to each situation."

Kenneth Oh is a co-head of Dentons’ Fintech Practice and Digital Assets & Distributed Ledger Technology Practice in Singapore. Chambers highlights his "extensive background in corporate finance, M&A and capital markets."

Salwah Abdul Shukor is Head of the Corporate practice at Zain & Co. (a member of Dentons) in Malaysia. She has experience advising on M&A work and intellectual property matters affecting FinTech clients.

Newly ranked Valerio Lemma in Italy is "particularly well regarded for advising banks on the regulatory issues they often encounter when adopting new technologies," according to Chambers. In addition to advising clients, he is also a Full Professor of Economics Law at Università degli Studi G. Marconi in Rome.
