Deloitte has advised Abac Capital on the sale of Global Dairy Ventures (GDV), a company specializing in the distribution of cheeses and specialty dairy products in Southern Europe, to the international dairy producer Royal A-ware. With this acquisition, Royal A-ware strengthens its position in the Southern European market and further expands its product portfolio.

GDV is a distributor of cheeses and specialty dairy products in Southern Europe. Headquartered in Barcelona, the company connects premium European dairy producers with retail and foodservice clients, among others. GDV comprises market leaders Iberconseil, Disalp, and Adonis, which together serve a large customer base, mainly in Spain, Portugal, and Italy, offering a broad product range.

The international family-owned company Royal A-ware has been operating for several years in Spain, Portugal, and Italy, with a sales office and multiple production and packaging facilities. “The acquisition of GDV strengthens our position in the Southern European market and enables us to offer customers an even more comprehensive product portfolio. GDV was a natural choice due to its long-standing supplier relationships, strong customer trust, and efficient distribution network,” said Antonio Rodríguez, CEO of Royal A-ware.

Christophe Roux, CEO of Global Dairy Ventures, commented: “We are delighted to join Royal A-ware, a leading dairy producer, and to leverage its scale, expertise, and deep industry knowledge to achieve our goal: connecting premium European dairy producers with the exacting needs of our customers. It has been a privilege to work with Abac Capital throughout this journey, and we look forward to the next phase of our development as part of the Royal A-ware family.”

Oriol Pinya, co-founder of Abac Capital, added: “We are very pleased with the strong development of Global Dairy Ventures during our ownership. Christophe and the team have built on the legacy of the Iberconseil and Disalp founders and have worked tirelessly to deliver a broad product portfolio, operational and commercial flexibility, and unmatched customer service. We want to thank the entire GDV team for their vision and excellent work and wish them every success in this new phase of growth.”

The Deloitte Legal teams involved in the transaction included Tax, with Xavier Betran (Partner) and Bàrbara Soler (Senior Associate Manager); Legal, with Ignacio Sanjurjo (Partner) and Jorge Prada Gausí (Senior Associate); and Labor & Employment, with Xavier Pallarés López (Partner) and Berta Martín Ontiyuelo (Senior Associate).

The Transaction Services team also participated, comprising Manuel Cobo (Partner) and María Martínez Monge (Senior Manager), providing advice aligned with Deloitte’s End-to-End M&A strategy, which forms the basis of Deloitte’s distinctive value proposition
