CEOE Aragón and CEEI Aragón have presented TRANSFORMER at the headquarters of the business organisation, a new innovation platform designed to support Aragonese companies in the creation of new business models, the development of transformative projects, and the generation of new growth opportunities.

The event brought together institutional representatives, industrial and technology companies, financing experts, and more than one hundred attendees connected to the region’s business and innovation ecosystem.

An initiative to accelerate innovation from within companies

In the opening session, Jesús Arnau, Director General of CEOE Aragón, highlighted that TRANSFORMER was created “to turn ideas into real projects and projects into new business lines, boosting companies’ competitiveness and strengthening Aragón’s innovation ecosystem.”

The platform will offer participating companies:

  • Free professional support.
  • Access to external collaborators, including startups, innovative suppliers, and sector specialists.
  • Advice to help mature projects and business models.
  • Support in accessing funding.
  • Backing from strategic infrastructures such as CEEI Aragón, CEOE Aragón, Acelera Pyme, the Enterprise Europe Network, and other reference services.

TRANSFORMER opens the door to multiple scenarios: from the creation of new startups and spin-offs to joint developments with suppliers, technological partnerships, or the entry of investors to explore new economic sectors.

Aragón, a growing ecosystem: innovation, talent and new companies

During the institutional presentation, Javier Martínez Romero (Managing Director of CEEI Aragón) underlined the strength of Aragón’s innovation environment.

Some of the figures shared during the session included:

  • Aragón invests more than 1.1% of its GDP in R&D, approaching the European average.
  • More than 840 entities took part last year in innovation projects supported by regional, national, and European programmes.
  • The region has more than 450 identified startups.
  • One in four Aragonese companies carries out some form of innovation, whether technological, organisational, or related to new business models.
  • Over the past five years, the number of corporate spin-offs has doubled.
  • Aragonese startups have raised more than €40 million in private investment in just two years.

“We have talent, technology, and courageous companies. Now we want to activate that potential even further,” organisers noted. “TRANSFORMER is designed precisely to multiply the opportunities already emerging within Aragón’s business fabric.”

Real-life cases demonstrating transformative potential

The event included a roundtable featuring success stories from Aragonese companies that have already committed to innovation and diversification:

  • MECANUS and MECANUS Innovación: technological evolution in industrial processes.
  • CEFA and Moontech Industrial Solutions: collaboration on new developments and business lines.
  • The Hub Kings Corner / EdTech Learning Solutions: an example of entrepreneurship and the creation of new value propositions in technological education.

Moderated by Javier Martínez Romero, the session showed that innovation is not only about technology, but also about new business models, efficiency, internationalisation, and adaptability.

Financing to make projects a reality

Ana Blanch, Managing Director of SODIAR, closed the technical block by outlining the alternative financing opportunities available to companies seeking to launch innovative and diversification projects. She stressed the importance of strong support from the earliest stages—something provided by the TRANSFORMER programme itself.

A collective boost for Aragón’s economic future

The event concluded with a coffee networking session where companies, institutions, and professionals were able to connect and explore potential collaborations.

TRANSFORMER is presented as a strategic tool to strengthen innovation in Aragón, diversify its economy, and generate new opportunities for qualified employment. “The goal is clear: more viable projects, more growth, and more innovation from within the companies themselves,” CEOE Aragón concluded at the close of the event.
