Innvierte SICC of CDTI Innovación invests in Integra Therapeutics, together with three co-investors, to develop a gene-editing platform for the treatment of oncological, autoimmune, and genetic diseases
Integra Therapeutics is a biotechnology company creating next-generation genetic writing tools to increase the efficiency and safety of advanced therapies.
This company, a spin-off from Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF), was founded in 2020 by Dr. Marc Güell and Dr. Avencia Sánchez-Mejías. It has designed the FiCAT genetic writing platform to develop cell therapies for autoimmune and oncological diseases, as well as gene therapies for rare diseases.
Thanks to this technological solution, Integra Therapeutics is generating FiCAT proof-of-concept data on its first gene therapy, using systemic delivery with non-viral vectors through lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) to treat a severe pediatric liver disease.
CDTI Innovación, through Innvierte, has completed an investment in this company together with INVIVO VENTURES, FCR, COLUMBUS LIFE SCIENCES FUND III, F.C.R., and AdBio Partners AFB FUND II, for a total amount of €2.7 million.
