CDTI Innovación’s SICC Innvierte invests in NICHE Mobility, together with Mondragón Fondo de Promoción II FCR, to develop advanced and sustainable electric bicycle motors. CDTI Innovación’s contribution to this transaction amounts to €504,000.

NICHE Mobility, a company specialized in innovation and electric mobility, develops advanced motors for electric bicycles, focusing on highly integrable, lightweight, and efficient electric drive systems. By implementing these technological solutions, the company is committed to transforming urban mobility, facilitating daily bicycle use, and making every ride smoother, cleaner, and more enjoyable.

To achieve this goal, the company, based in the Girona Science and Technology Park and founded by engineers Marc Barceló and Enric Delgado, is working on the ADTS® concept, a European-patented automatic gear shift that optimizes performance and user experience in electric and urban bicycles.

Through Innvierte, CDTI Innovación has completed an investment in this company together with Mondragón Fondo de Promoción II, FCR, amounting to €504,000. With this participation, CDTI Innovación contributes to the development of technological solutions for light, advanced, and sustainable mobility.

Mondragón Fondo de Promoción II, FCR

This fund is managed by Clave Capital and aims to invest in technology-based companies in areas of interest to the more than 150 cooperatives of the Mondragón Group (industrial, automotive, B2B solutions, health, etc.) to generate positive synergies for portfolio companies and the cooperatives’ businesses. Investments range from €250,000 to €2,000,000, assuming the risks typical of seed-stage investments. The combined assets of Mondragón Fondo de Promoción I and II, FCR, total €21 million, with an investment horizon of 10–12 years.

Innvierte

Innvierte is an initiative aimed at promoting business innovation through venture capital investments in technology-based or innovative companies. The program is implemented through the closed-end collective investment company Innvierte Economía Sostenible SICC S.M.E., S.A., which is self-managed and supervised by the Spanish National Securities Market Commission (CNMV), and whose sole shareholder is CDTI Innovación.

To date, CDTI Innovación has committed €2.661 billion across 61 investment vehicles that have invested in more than 622 companies, and through its co-investment line, it has directly committed €723 million in 190 companies.

Innvierte is part of the Spanish Strategy for Science, Technology, and Innovation 2021–2027, approved by the Council of Ministers in September 2020. This strategy outlines the objectives, reforms, and measures to be adopted in all areas of R&D&I to promote its growth and impact, and it is one of the pillars supporting the government’s R&D&I policy design for the coming years.
