SICC Innvierte of CDTI Innovación invests in Cocuus, together with TECH TRANSFER AGRIFOOD FCR, to transform the food industry with next-generation sustainable products

COCUUS SYSTEM IBERICA, S.L. (Cocuus) is a pioneering technology and industrial company in the food sector, specialized in the development and manufacturing of advanced industrial solutions that accelerate the delivery of innovations to customers and facilitate the production of next-generation foods.

The company owns a patented technology, FOOD TO DATA – DATA TO FOOD, which allows analyzing the morphological structure of various foods and generating mathematical models for the development of 3D printing technologies applied to industrial-scale food production.

Cocuus, with a team composed of engineers, food technologists, nutritionists, and 3D designers, prioritizes creativity and ingenuity to produce nutritious, high-value-added products for consumers while being more sustainable for the planet.

These products, both plant-based and hybrid, maintain the same texture, flavor, and appearance as traditional foods, thanks to the company’s AMS technology, which allows each product to be created layer by layer automatically, ensuring precision and full control over texture, color, and taste.

Each layer can be customized in detail, facilitating experimentation with innovative ingredients and the creation of unique combinations. From plant-based bacon to smoked salmon or alternative ham, Cocuus’ technology turns any idea into a market-ready product.

Additionally, the company designs and manufactures advanced machinery, in collaboration with technology centers such as Leitat, for large-scale production, and provides a comprehensive supply of the ingredients required to create foods of the highest quality.

Investment Details
CDTI Innovación, through Innvierte, has closed an investment in this company for €503,000. This operation is carried out via the co-investment initiative through TECH TRANSFER AGRIFOOD FCR, which contributes €556,000.

TECH TRANSFER AGRIFOOD FCR
TECH TRANSFER AGRIFOOD FCR is Spain’s first venture capital fund focused on meeting the demands of the agri-food industry, managed by CLAVE MAYOR SGEIC, S.A. (Clave Capital). Through this investment platform, it supports entrepreneurs and high-impact technologies across the food value chain.

The venture capital manager Clave Capital, with 20 years of experience, has made more than 90 investments during this period and actively collaborates in defining the strategy and managing portfolio companies.

Innvierte
Innvierte is an initiative aimed at promoting business innovation by supporting venture capital investment in technology-based or innovative companies. This program is implemented through the closed-end collective investment company Innvierte Economía Sostenible SICC S.M.E., S.A., self-managed and supervised by the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV), with CDTI Innovación as its sole shareholder.

To date, CDTI Innovación has committed €3,183.8M through Innvierte across 57 investment vehicles and, through its co-investment line, has directly committed €864.3M in 197 companies.

Innvierte is part of the Spanish Strategy for Science, Technology, and Innovation 2021-2027, approved by the Council of Ministers in September 2020.
