CDTI Innovación, through its Innvierte initiative, has committed an investment of up to €73.5 million in ABAC HORIZON FUND INNVIERTE, FCRE, a fund managed by ABAC CAPITAL MANAGER SGEIC, S.A., which invests in companies whose environmental impact is directly linked to their core business activity.
The fund focuses on the Lower Mid-Market segment (companies with EBITDA between €2 million and €5 million) and follows a strategy of acquiring majority stakes in companies with differentiated value propositions, technological leadership, strong growth potential, opportunities to improve operational efficiency through professionalization, and international expansion.
CDTI Innovación’s commitment to Abac Horizon through Innvierte amounts to €73.5 million, joining commitments from international investors such as the European Investment Fund (EIF) and national investors such as the Institut Català de Finances (ICF). Regarding investor typology, the first closing includes participation from insurance companies, pension funds, funds of funds, and family offices, among others.
Abac Capital

Innvierte
Innvierte is an initiative aimed at promoting business innovation by supporting venture capital investment in technology-based or innovative companies. The program is implemented through the closed-end investment company Innvierte Economía Sostenible SICC S.M.E., S.A., which is self-managed and supervised by the Spanish National Securities Market Commission (CNMV), and of which CDTI Innovación is the sole shareholder.
To date, CDTI Innovación has committed, through Innvierte, €3.1838 billion to 57 investment vehicles, and through its co-investment line, has directly committed €864.3 million in 197 companies.
Innvierte forms part of the Spanish Strategy for Science, Technology and Innovation 2021–2027, approved by the Council of Ministers in September 2020. This Strategy sets out the objectives, reforms, and measures to be adopted across the entire R&D&I ecosystem in order to boost growth and impact, and constitutes one of the pillars of the Government’s R&D&I policy for the coming years.
CDTI Innovación
The Centre for the Development of Technology and Innovation (CDTI E.P.E.) is the innovation agency of the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, whose objective is to promote technological innovation in the business sector. CDTI’s mission is to ensure that Spanish companies generate and transform scientific and technological knowledge into globally competitive, sustainable, and inclusive growth.
In 2025, within the framework of its Strategic Plan 2024–2027, CDTI provided more than €2 billion in support to Spanish companies and startups.
