The Innvierte SICC of CDTI Innovación has invested in KEMBARA FUND I, F.C.R., a €1 billion fund launched by Mundi Ventures, to support Deep Tech and climate-focused startups across Europe.
With this commitment, CDTI Innovación reaffirms its investment strategy in SMEs and midcaps operating in areas such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing, robotics and space technology, as well as energy efficiency, green mobility, the circular economy, new materials and sustainable agriculture.
Through its Innvierte initiative, CDTI Innovación has committed up to €300 million to KEMBARA FUND I, F.C.R., managed by Mundi Ventures. The fund targets SMEs and midcaps in the Deep Tech and Climate Tech sectors at the growth stage—primarily Series B and C rounds—with a strong focus on scaleups.
The fund supports companies that leverage cutting-edge science and engineering to address the world’s most pressing global challenges. This support is not only financial but also provides strategic backing to help portfolio companies scale and consolidate their position in international markets.
The fund has a total size of €1 billion, enabling investments of up to €50 million per company. Its geographical focus covers the European Union, the United Kingdom and Switzerland. In terms of investment sectors, the initiative concentrates on deep technology fields that are driving the next wave of innovation, including artificial intelligence, quantum computing, robotics and space technology, as well as energy efficiency, green mobility, the circular economy, new materials and sustainable agriculture.

Innvierte
Innvierte is an initiative aimed at promoting business innovation by supporting venture capital investment in technology-based and innovative companies. The programme is implemented through the closed-end collective investment company Innvierte Economía Sostenible SICC S.M.E., S.A., which is self-managed and supervised by the Spanish Securities Market Commission (CNMV), and of which CDTI Innovación is the sole shareholder.
To date, CDTI Innovación has committed, through Innvierte, a total of €2,885.8 million to 54 investment vehicles and, through its co-investment line, has directly committed €833.6 million to 197 companies.
Innvierte is part of the Spanish Strategy for Science, Technology and Innovation 2021–2027, approved by the Council of Ministers in September 2020. This Strategy sets out the objectives, reforms and measures to be adopted across the entire R&D&I ecosystem in order to boost growth and impact, and represents one of the pillars underpinning the Spanish Government’s innovation policy for the coming years.
CDTI Innovación
The Centre for the Development of Technology and Innovation (CDTI E.P.E.) is the innovation agency of the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities. Its mission is to promote technological innovation within the business sector and to ensure that Spanish companies transform scientific and technical knowledge into globally competitive, sustainable and inclusive growth.
