BStartup, Banco Sabadell’s service specialized in financial solutions for startups and scaleups has financed over €500 million and invested more than €15.3 million in 2025.
This was announced by Carlos Ventura, Executive Director and Head of Business in Spain at Banco Sabadell, during his visit to 4YFN26, the event for tech startups held as part of the Mobile World Congress, an event in which the entity acts as the main sponsor
The bank has invested €15.3 million in direct investment in startups, both through equity and venture debt via BStartup and Sabadell Venture Capital. According to Ventura, this figure reflects “not only the dynamism of the ecosystem, but also Banco Sabadell’s ability to support these companies at key stages of their growth.”
More than 100 startups and 4,300 jobs
Ventura also highlighted the evolution of BStartup’s portfolio, which now exceeds 100 startups invested in since 2014, with 80% still active. “It is a very high percentage and a clear sign that we are backing solid and scalable projects,” he said.
Another aspect he emphasized was the dual impact orientation of BStartup’s investments, both social and economic. In fact, 37.5% of the startups in the portfolio are engaged in activities related to contributing to the decarbonization of the planet or improving human health (19.2% belong to the health sector, a vertical that continues to gain weight in its strategy).
Overall, the portfolio companies already employ more than 4,300 people.
Taking the pulse of the entrepreneurial ecosystem
Ventura also stressed that this is “the perfect place to take the pulse of the entrepreneurial ecosystem. It is true that the ecosystem is going through a period of transition, but seeing the dynamism in this space, we can say that the pulse is strong and the future very promising.”
Over the four days of 4YFN26, BStartup has carried out an intense activity as main partner. At its stand, 15 of the companies recently invested in have showcased their projects. The bank has also participated in strategic panels on the main stages focused on AI, the evolution of SaaS, and technologies that support the energy transition
