BLUESEA Hotels, backed by Portobello Capital, begins the year with a significant boost to its strategic plan, consolidating its leadership in the “Value for Money” segment and positioning itself as one of the ten leading hotel chains in Spain.
As part of its growth strategy, BLUESEA Hotels added the management of Moondreams brand hotels to its portfolio in January. These properties belong to the vacation division of Soho Boutique Hotels. The operation brings 17 new properties and 1,811 rooms in prime tourist destinations such as the Costa del Sol, Ibiza, Menorca, Costa de la Luz, Costa de Almería, Cullera, Cantabria, and Pontevedra. The company assumed administrative management of these assets from 1 January, and will take over operational and commercial management from 1 February, following a pre-planned integration process to ensure an orderly and efficient transition.
These additions are complemented by three more properties, further strengthening BLUESEA’s presence in key destinations. In Gran Canaria, BLUESEA will manage Hotel Rey Carlos, a 3-star property with 141 rooms located in Playa del Inglés, which will undergo renovations in the coming months to align its offering with the chain’s standards. The portfolio is also expanded in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria with the addition of La Cícer, a complex of 40 apartments just steps from Playa de Las Canteras, one of the most sought-after urban beaches for both domestic and international travelers. On the Costa del Sol, Hotel Torremolinos Centro joins the portfolio, featuring 110 rooms in the heart of Torremolinos (Málaga).
All of this follows the recent closure of the Labranda / Meeting Point Hotels transaction, previously announced. This deal represents a key milestone in the Group’s growth, adding 15 new properties in the Canary Islands and laying the foundations to further strengthen its presence across the islands.
BLUESEA will carry out a gradual rebranding of these assets, which will operate under the BLUESEA Hotels brand and be integrated into the company’s new corporate website.
With these additions, BLUESEA Hotels reaches 63 hotels and 9,560 rooms under management, reinforcing its position as a benchmark in Spanish vacation tourism.
