Announcing the open call for the second edition of BIND GovTech, which seeks innovative startups with groundbreaking technologies to work on the latest digitization challenges in the public sector.
In this second edition, 9 Basque government organizations, the IT & Digitisation agency EJIE, the agri-food security organization, ELIKA, the energy agency EVE, the statistic institute EUSTAT, the HAZI foundation for agriculture, fisheries and food, the environment association IHOBE, the business park network PARKE, the business promotion agency SPRI and the industrial infrastructures organization SPRILUR have established digital transformation challenges for 2024. Each challenge is specific to their current needs and they are seeking a variety of solutions like access control systems, big data & analytics, circular economy for food surplus, route optimization, automated data collection and data extraction, AI, machine learning, data visualization tools, deeptech, SaaS, and more.
Startups with related technologies interested in working with a public entity on a paid contract are encouraged to apply before the May 2nd deadline. GovTech offers the opportunity to pitch to potential clients and the startups selected will get a paid contract to develop a project, networking & immersion in the local ecosystem, plus training to navigate B2B in the public sector.

In the first edition, six startups were selected to work on challenges from 6 public organizations and the positive reputation of the program helped it grow. We have seen the platform grow in the number of associations participating and we have seen the technologies and specialities expand as well.
In the first edition, we had success cases within the fields of documentation, process automation, big data analyzation and visualization and deeptech applied to environmental services. This year there are new challenges and opportunities ahead and we can´t wait to see what solutions are developed via BIND GovTech.
