BIC Euronova, the European Business and Innovation Centre (CEEI) of Málaga, in collaboration with the National Cybersecurity Institute (INCIBE) — a body under the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Service, through the State Secretariat for Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructure — is launching the second edition of the ambitious acceleration program CYBERSECURITY VENTURES by BIC Euronova, aimed at supporting innovative startups and SMEs, following the success of the first edition held at BIC Euronova in late 2024. This initiative aims to foster the development of new companies through an acceleration program and to boost their innovative activities, while also strengthening cybersecurity among the Spanish population and market.
The training and mentoring program has kicked off at BIC Euronova in Málaga TechPark, running for 10 weeks with two sessions per week. In addition, participating companies will benefit from a set number of hours of individualized consulting on legal, tax, and digital marketing matters, as well as guidance from an expert mentor.
In addition to benefiting from the acceleration, training, and mentoring program at BIC Euronova in Málaga, participants will have the chance to continue their training in Silicon Valley with a 5-week stay at Draper University. This prize, valued at $12,000 and managed by BIC Euronova, will be awarded to the winning company.
As a requirement, the participating companies have been previously evaluated by BIC Euronova and must meet certain criteria: either having a direct link to cybersecurity — with it being their core business, developing innovative products or services in the cybersecurity field — or having cybersecurity as a key component of their operations (e.g., online sales), requiring secure digital environments for their customers, or showing interest in integrating cybersecurity measures into their business models.
This program is part of the INCIBE Emprende initiative, within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, and is funded by the Next Generation EU funds.
As a collaborating entity of the program, BIC Euronova, the European Business and Innovation Centre of Málaga, will offer the acceleration program, talks, workshops, events, and incubation services to the participating companies. This joint effort will allow participants to benefit from a strong knowledge base in cybersecurity, which is essential to operate safely in today’s digital environment. It is worth noting that Spain is the third country in the world in terms of cyber threat detections, accounting for 6%, close to Japan and Poland.
