BerriUp has once again been recognized as one of Spain’s leading startup accelerators, according to the annual Funcas report titled “The Services Provided by Business Incubators and Accelerators in Spain. Ranking 2026.” The organization ranked first in the 2026–2027 mentoring programs category and third overall among Spanish accelerators.
This recognition further strengthens BerriUp’s position as a leading entrepreneurship and innovation hub, both in the Basque Country and across Spain. Since its inception, the accelerator has remained committed to supporting entrepreneurship and innovation from Euskadi, and its inclusion among the country’s top private accelerators reinforces the value of the work it carries out on a daily basis.
The Funcas report describes BerriUp as “one of the pioneering private accelerators in the Spanish ecosystem. With more than a decade of experience, it has distinguished itself through its intensive support for early-stage startups, combining investment, mentoring and strategic guidance to help develop business models. Its activity has contributed to strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the Basque Country and promoting technology projects with international ambitions.”
BerriUp has consistently held leading positions in the Funcas ranking since 2021. The report highlights that “BerriUp’s continued presence among the top-ranked accelerators reflects the maturity of its acceleration model and its ability to generate innovative companies.”
Joy Okuyama, Project Director at BerriUp, who attended the presentation of the Funcas ranking, expressed her gratitude for the recognition. “We are very grateful to Funcas for acknowledging the work carried out by BerriUp year after year,” she said. “We will continue working every day to grow further and support new companies in the development of their projects.”
