Bcombinator has been selected by the Official Credit Institute (ICO), through its manager AXIS, as one of the managing entities in the 17th call of the Fond-ICO Global program. The firm, based in Barcelona and Madrid, will manage a 40 million euro fund aimed at boosting around 100 tech startups in Pre-Seed and Seed stages.

Bcombinator’s investment fund falls within the category of incubation and technology transfer and is focused on boosting tech projects with an agnostic approach to sectors and industries. Its main selection criterion will be the use and development of artificial intelligence as a driving force for innovation.

Initial tickets will range from 50,000 to 100,000 euros, with the possibility of follow-on investments of up to 500,000 euros in projects that demonstrate greater traction and growth potential.

With a total budget of 850 million euros, the new call for Fond-ICO Global will mobilize more than 2.4 billion euros in public-private investment. Bcombinator shares this category with other early-stage specialized funds such as Archipélago, Demium, and Faraday, consolidating its position among the most active and relevant players in Spain's ecosystem.

“This backing is a strong validation of our investment thesis and marks a key milestone in our ability to support talent from the earliest stages,” says Jordi Martín, co-founder and CEO of Bcombinator. “Our commitment is firm: to stand by founders from day one, providing not only capital, but mentoring, community, and a global vision that enables them to scale with solid foundations.”

Since its creation, Bcombinator has accelerated over 100 startups through a comprehensive value proposition that combines one of the most highly regarded acceleration programs in the Spanish entrepreneurial ecosystem, early-stage professional investment, and a powerful network of contacts. Its Innovation Hub, with over 15,000 members, strengthens its ability to connect talent, capital, and opportunities on an international scale.

With growing presence in Latin America, Bcombinator expands its global reach and strengthens the bridges between Europe and America for startups with international ambition. This new phase consolidates the firm as one of the strategic hubs of reference for tech entrepreneurship in Europe.

At a time when capital has become more selective, initiatives like this reinforce the national innovation ecosystem and position Spain as an attractive hub for the creation and scaling of new companies with international ambition.
