Clara, one of the leading corporate spend-management platforms in Latin America, has received a structured financing of USD 36 million granted by BBVA Spark. The capital will boost Clara’s fast-growing operations in Colombia, where the company has doubled its payment volume year-over-year, while accelerating its expansion across Latin America.

The facility granted by BBVA Spark will be used to scale Clara’s payment products in Colombia.

“This financing marks a significant milestone in our relationship with Clara, driving its continued growth and innovation in the country. We are proud to support a company that is helping Colombian businesses by transforming and streamlining their corporate expense management,” said Eduardo González, Head of BBVA Spark in Colombia and Argentina.

The funds will also play a strategic role in the rollout of TravelPay, the company’s newly announced vertical payment solution designed specifically for the corporate travel segment.

This announcement underscores Clara’s strength and readiness to scale into a new phase of expansion. Together, these milestones reinforce Clara’s leadership as the preferred financial management solution for businesses in Latin America, serving some of the region’s top companies, including Rappi, Simetrik, Grupo Nutresa, Postobón, Juan Valdez and TeleColombia.

“This investment puts us in an exceptionally strong position. We are already the fastest-growing corporate card in Colombia, a fact that validates our approach. Having a partner of BBVA Spark’s caliber strengthens our ability to continue scaling with credibility and a long-term vision,” said Gerry Giacomán Colyer, co-founder and CEO of Clara. “I am convinced that we will empower many more companies, generate positive social impact, and foster a virtuous cycle across the region.”

Clara’s product ecosystem was built to automate financial operations and provide finance teams with unprecedented levels of control and efficiency. Companies using the platform gain access to corporate cards and a broad range of payment solutions, all integrated into an AI-powered spend-management software that delivers real-time visibility and centralized control over all financial activities.
