BBVA acted as financial advisor to Actis on the sale of Orygen—a power generation platform with 2.3 GW of installed capacity—to Infracorp, the energy and infrastructure investment vehicle of Grupo Romero.
The transaction, announced in March 2026, strengthens Infracorp’s position in the Peruvian energy sector and ranks as one of the most significant mergers and acquisitions deals in the country over the past decade.
A landmark transaction for the energy sector
In this transaction, BBVA supported Actis in the divestment of a diversified portfolio of generation assets, comprising wind, solar, hydroelectric, and thermal technologies. Orygen operates 13 assets, enabling it to maintain a stable and predictable revenue base.
During Actis’s ownership, the company consolidated its positioning through asset optimization, strengthening of its capital structure, and expansion of its renewable energy generation capacity.
With this acquisition, Infracorp reinforces its presence in the Peruvian power sector by incorporating a large-scale asset and a diversified portfolio, while Actis completes its value creation strategy.
BBVA’s involvement in this transaction reflects its expertise in advising on infrastructure and energy deals across the region, as well as its long-standing relationship with Actis, whom it has advised on multiple strategic transactions in recent years
