Baleària, Spain’s leading shipping company for passenger and cargo maritime transport, has launched a new challenge in the DataHub, the innovation space specialized in data promoted by Marina de Empresas, the entrepreneurship and innovation hub driven by Juan Roig, in collaboration with Google Cloud.
The challenge aims to develop an Artificial Intelligence-based solution to help Baleària enhance the experience and offer to its customers through more sophisticated parameters such as external data sources, market behavior, or even weather conditions. This will allow the company to better adapt to the needs of each of its target audiences and make informed decisions, thanks to advanced data analysis.
To support Baleària’s team, participants will have access to a real historical database that includes information such as occupancy records, prices, past promotions, weather conditions, key dates, and other relevant contextual data for analysis and prediction.
The goal is to develop a solution on Google Cloud, using machine learning and generative AI techniques with Vertex AI and BigQuery platforms.
In addition, participants will receive expert support from Sngular, a Spanish technology company with extensive global experience in developing advanced technology solutions. Sngular will collaborate with teams to boost their proposals and facilitate the implementation of key technologies.
The program will start on October 17, followed by an intensive weekend on October 24 and 25, and the final will take place on October 31. All activities are designed to foster teamwork, creativity, and the resolution of real-world challenges in a collaborative environment.
Who can participate?
Participants will be selected among profiles from Marina de Empresas (students, professors, startups, or employees with experience in data, AI, and development), as well as interested external professionals. Once selected, multidisciplinary teams will be created with profiles including Project Manager, AI/Data Scientist, Cloud Engineer, and Backend Developer.
Over 20 days, the teams will work on the challenge with free access to Google Cloud tools, and will receive technical support from Google experts. The final solution will be presented before a jury composed of representatives from Baleària, Google, and technology experts.
Registration for the challenge, which will take place from October 17 to 31 at Marina de Empresas, is now open until October 10.
