Al Andalus Innovation Venture (AAIV25) will hold its fourth edition on September 24th and 25th, 2025, at the Pabellón de la Navegación in Seville. Last year’s edition brought together more than 2,386 attendees, featuring 597 startups, 171 investors, and 105 corporations. This year, the organizers expect further growth across all metrics, consolidating Al Andalus Innovation Venture as the leading innovation hub in southern Spain.
The flagship event in Spain for scaleups, investment, and open innovation has already selected its 24 finalist scaleups. These disruptive projects span strategic sectors such as artificial intelligence, health, energy, talent, sustainability, and digital retail, and have been chosen for their scalability, impact potential, and capacity to lead business innovation.
Among the finalists are Velora, Payflow, Airway Shield, Regemat 3D, Banbu Cosmética Natural, Cambium Tech, Legiscar, Check, Iteldoc, Insectius, Happymami Lactancia, Tutrocito, La Bienhecha, Turicleta, Wavf, Loop Diagnostics, Wealthreader, SpikaTech, El Amasadero, Attitude, Debify, Solarmente, Heuristik, and El Amasadero.
Madrid and Catalonia lead the regional representation this year, each contributing six finalist scaleups, including projects like Velora, Payflow, Iteldoc, Check, Debify, and Loop Diagnostics. Both regions reaffirm their status as key hubs in Spain’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, standing out for their sectoral diversity and high growth potential.
They are followed by Andalusia, with five selected scaleups ranging from biotechnology to sustainable fashion, including Regemat 3D, Happymami, and La Bienhecha. Castilla-La Mancha contributes two projects focused on sustainability and active tourism, while Cantabria, the Basque Country, and the Valencian Community will also be represented with innovative proposals in health, energy, and natural cosmetics.
These 24 scaleups will take part in AAIV25’s main program, competing for recognition as the most promising project in Southern Europe. The winning scaleup will receive an exclusive three-year enrollment in the BME Scaleups program, powered by BME Bolsas y Mercados Españoles, designed to support the most promising companies on their path toward a future IPO. This highly personalized program is extremely selective — only a handful of scaleups have joined to date — and offers strategic visibility to future investors, with an estimated value of €7,600. Additionally, the top projects from each thematic vertical will be awarded the opportunity to participate in two of Spain’s leading startup ecosystem events: Valencia Digital Summit and The Way Summit in Vigo.
Alongside the finalists, more than 70 additional startups from sectors such as AI, agrotech, cleantech, cybersecurity, insurtech, health, mobility, and gaming will gather in Seville, taking part in various content sessions, pitch competitions, and networking spaces.
A more diverse program with new themes and key industry figures
Al Andalus Innovation Venture 2025 is stepping up its content strategy with an expanded format featuring three specialized thematic days that will tackle some of today’s biggest challenges and opportunities: generative artificial intelligence, green hydrogen, and women in technology. Each track will have its own agenda, headline speakers, sector-specific investment funds, leading corporations, and success stories, cementing the event’s position as a strategic meeting point for innovation, capital, and talent.
New this year is a session dedicated to the well-being of entrepreneurs, focusing on mental health, stress management, and sustainable leadership. Among the speakers are Atos, the global tech giant sharing its experience applying AI to major sporting events like Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024; Hugo Arévalo, co-founder of ThePowerMBA and an investor in over 70 startups including Glovo and Jobandtalent, who will share his insights on scalability and business models; Iker Marcaide, founder of Zubi Group and driving force behind the clean tech block and investment opportunities in green hydrogen; and Pablo Fernández, serial entrepreneur and founder of Clicars, Clikalia, and Clidrive. Key figures from the investment ecosystem will also be present, including Laura González-Estéfani (TheVentureCity), Stephan de Moraes (Indico Capital), Pedro Ribeiro (Armilar), Aquilino Peña (Kibo Ventures), Yago Arbeloa (MIO Group), and Antonio Iglesias (Endeavor Spain).
As is tradition, the mobility vertical will take place on September 23rd aboard the AVE Madrid-Seville high-speed train, during the third edition of TrenLab by Al Andalus Innovation Venture. The now iconic “investment train”, organized with TrenLab, will depart from Atocha Station and offer selected startups the chance to pitch their projects to a select group of investors, top executives, and CEOs of major companies while traveling at 300 km/h — turning the journey into a unique experience of networking and visibility.
Al Andalus Innovation Venture continues to enjoy robust support from both public and private initiatives, including the Junta de Andalucía as Main Partner, Seville City Council as Gold Partner; the Government of Aragón, ICEX, SETT, Trenlab, Renaiss AI, and EIT Food as Silver Partners; the Junta de Castilla y León, Arcano, Santander Startups, ENISA, Santalucía Impulsa, Fundalogy, and CDTI as Bronze Partners; as well as Ayming, Aptki, INERCO, GOBO, the Government of Estonia, BStartup, Garantia, and the Andalusian Green Hydrogen Cluster.
