Afianza Legal, the legal division of Afianza, continues its steady and strategic growth, reaching €11 million in revenue and consolidating its national presence with more than 120 legal professionals and coverage in practically every province. All of this positions it as one of the most relevant law firms in the Spanish legal landscape.

Afianza Legal, a firm specialized in business law, has expert lawyers in the main disciplines: tax, civil, commercial, international, procedural, labor law, administrative litigation, asset recovery, and regulatory compliance.

In this strengthening process, Afianza has added key legal professionals to its team, such as Jerónimo Marqueño, responsible for developing the tax practice; Jesús Chavarría Blanco, leading the reinforcement in commercial law, restructurings, and M&A; and Cristina Palomares, a recent hire to lead the procedural area.

Afianza Legal is co-led by Daniel Lara, an expert in commercial law who has driven the Area since its launch in 2005, and Cristina Palomares, who since joining has strengthened the leadership of the area by contributing her labor law expertise.

At the corporate level, growth accelerated in 2024 and the early months of 2025 with acquisitions of firms such as Euroconsejo Jurídico, Muñoz y Otero Asociados, Bufete Peña, the Pablo Ureña firm, and Grupo Plus Legal. Additionally, in line with the company's growth, strong legal advisory teams have joined, such as Arrabe Integra, Privatia, Proluco, Ad Hoc, Asevi, and Labyfis.

These moves have consolidated Afianza Legal as a benchmark in the legal field across all business and family law disciplines, with national coverage and a broad range of services.

In this vein, Afianza Legal has recently strengthened itself through two new strategic alliances.

Strategic alliance with Briz Jurídico Tributario

Afianza has acquired a 50% stake in Briz Jurídico Tributario, a leading firm in tax and commercial law celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, led by Ricardo Briz de Labra, headquartered in Madrid, with an international network of associates focused on Europe and Latin America.

This operation, which maintains the current structure of the firm with its professionals and the Briz brand, represents a strategic alliance that will allow both firms to offer their clients a distinctive value proposition by combining Briz’s technical specialization and track record with Afianza’s complementary capabilities and network.

Briz Jurídico Tributario specializes in national tax planning, family businesses, international tax, corporate restructurings, mobility, transfer pricing, and inheritance law, with a practical approach based on its knowledge of business decision-making processes, focused on service personalization and technical excellence. Its team, made up of professionals with extensive experience in national and international firms, strengthens Afianza’s positioning in the legal advisory segment.

Integration of Vicente Tovar

Additionally, Afianza Legal has fully integrated the Granada-based firm Vicente Tovar. This new addition brings to Afianza Legal’s existing talent a highly qualified team with more than 20 years of experience, led by lawyer Vicente Tovar.

The firm is recognized for its strategic advice to family businesses, asset-holding entities, and SMEs, as well as for its litigation capability and deep knowledge of the Andalusian business environment.

Its integration into Afianza represents a key reinforcement in southern Spain and a commitment to bringing significant expertise in procedural law and regulatory compliance.

These new acquisitions, adding to the 48 completed since its launch, are part of Afianza’s expansion plan, which doubled its revenue in 2024 to reach €50 million and expects to exceed €70 million in 2025, expanding its team to over 1,000 professionals with new offices in Bilbao, Vitoria, Granada, Valencia, and Albacete, alongside its current offices in Madrid, Ibiza, and Oviedo.

“These two new operations reaffirm our commitment to a strategic growth model based on talent acquisition and alliances with firms that share our vision of legal service as tailored support to the new challenges of the business environment,” said José Luis Cogolludo, CEO of Afianza.
