The Riverside Company (Riverside), a global private investor focused on the smaller end of the middle market, has invested in Weber Fire and Safety (Weber), a fire protection business serving the greater St. Louis area. This investment is Riverside’s 26th add-on to its CertaSite® platform and represents the first investment for the platform in Missouri.

As a family-owned business, Weber has been providing the community fire protection services for fire extinguishers, kitchen systems and emergency and exit lights since 1958.

“Weber’s solid reputation across Missouri enables CertaSite to expand its customer base to that region,” said Riverside Micro-Cap Fund (RMCF) Managing Partner Loren Schlachet. “Under our hold, CertaSite continues to thrive, and the company is well-positioned for future growth.”

CertaSite provides the highest levels of customer service, responsiveness, building safety and code compliance to customers across the Midwest. The company goes beyond compliance, focusing on partnerships and professionalism while providing customers with a simplified and dependable solution to managing all the fire protection and life safety systems in commercial buildings.

“We’re excited to welcome Weber to the CertaSite family of companies as we break into the Missouri market,” said RMCF Partner John McKernan. “We look forward to carrying forward the strong legacy of fire and life safety service that Weber has established in Missouri.”

This acquisition is another example of Riverside’s commitment to investing in the Business Services Industry. The firm has completed over 350 investments in this area and has a team of global experts dedicated to growing companies in this specialization.

Working with Schlachet and McKernan on this deal were Vice President Kenneth Johnson, Associate Caitlin McGrath, Analyst Reece Quigley and Finance Director Jana Bell. Partner of Origination Cheryl Strom sourced the deal for Riverside.
