Zunibal, a company backed by Nazca Capital, announced today the acquisition of Echoview. The Australian company, based in Hobart, Tasmania, is a global leader in software development for the processing, analysis, and visualization of hydroacoustic data. This includes improving species differentiation, precise biomass estimation, size assessment, and enhancing oceanographic models with higher-accuracy data, among other capabilities. Additionally, the acquisition will enable Zunibal to diversify its technology portfolio, boosting strategic areas such as sustainable fishery management, aquaculture, oceanography, and the blue economy.

This is the third acquisition in the past two years, aimed at improving service and technology for clients. Our plan is to continue accelerating Zunibal’s international expansion through acquisitions."

Brett Merritt, CEO of Echoview, added: "Joining Zunibal marks an exciting new chapter for Echoview. For 30 years, our team has been committed to advancing hydroacoustic science and software. Partnering with a company with world-class reputation in innovation and responsible marine technologies will benefit our clients, expand our global reach, and allow us to continue providing reliable worldwide solutions for sustainable marine ecosystem management."

Echoview’s current team will remain at the helm of the business, now supported by Zunibal to enhance development and international growth. Operational integration of Echoview within Zunibal will begin immediately, strengthening the group’s scientific, technical, and commercial capabilities, consolidating its position as a key player in the global marine technology market, and offering integrated and sustainable solutions that promote responsible and efficient use of ocean resources.

Joint opportunities include advanced real-time monitoring of aquaculture facilities, marine life monitoring for renewable energy installations, and precise, continuous tracking of climate change impacts on marine species.
