The Regional Promotion Society (SRP), a public company of the Principality of Asturias, is supporting the expansion of Bluco Brands Distribution (BBD) with €150,000 in financing through the Asturias Startup Fund, aimed at driving its growth plan. The total investment for the project amounts to €350,000 and will enable the creation of seven jobs over two years.

BBD, located in the Gijón Science and Technology Park (Asturias), specializes in the distribution and sale of products from various brands on marketplaces, acting as a comprehensive partner for manufacturers and brands seeking professional presence in online channels.

Its business model is based on scalability and proprietary management software, a tool that automates the entire process from final customer purchase to supplier fulfillment and delivery to the buyer. This automation allows the company to operate efficiently and manage growing volumes while maintaining stable margins.

A project with a solid foundation

BBD was founded in 2021 as a spin-off and natural evolution of Bluco Comercio Electrónico (BCE), one of Spain’s pioneering marketplace consulting agencies and a member of the Amazon Service Provider Network. The experience and client portfolio of BCE—including brands such as Lladró, Ysabel Mora, De’Longhi, Arcos, and Central Lechera Asturiana—have provided BBD with a strong base of knowledge, technology, and services, reinforcing its positioning as a specialized online channel distributor.

After successfully validating a pilot project for De’Longhi, BCE identified a growing need for brands to have an expert partner capable of managing their marketplace operations comprehensively. This need led to the creation of BBD, which now offers brands a full-service solution, including catalog management, order and logistics handling, invoicing, returns, and customer service.

Boosting growth with SRP support

The financing from SRP will allow BBD to strengthen its team—creating seven new jobs over two years—expand its operational capacity, and deploy strategic commercial initiatives to grow its brand portfolio.

With this support, BBD aims to become one of the top five Spanish distributors specialized in online channels over the next three years, combining proprietary technology, market knowledge, and a scalable organizational structure.

Asturias Startup Fund: supporting innovative entrepreneurial initiatives

The Asturias Startup Fund is designed to finance young innovative companies from Asturias or those wishing to establish themselves in the region, supporting both early-stage and growth-phase projects. Financial support is provided through unsecured participatory loans ranging from €50,000 to €200,000.

To date, SRP has approved €2,355,000 in funding through this fund for 24 projects, representing an induced investment of €12.6 million and the creation of 250 jobs within the first two years.

The Regional Promotion Society of the Principality of Asturias (SRP), part of the Sekuens group, currently manages over €52.8 million invested in 55 companies across a wide range of sectors, including technology, industrial, agri-food, health and life sciences, engineering, social care, and circular economy and sustainability.
