The Ministry of Industry and Tourism, through SEPIDES, has announced the first awards of funding under the Industrial Value Chain Promotion Program (CVI). In total, €35.7 million has been provisionally allocated to 28 projects.

Notable funded projects include those by Tereos Starch & Sweeteners Iberia (€7.8 million) in Zaragoza, Tornell Sac (€4 million) in La Llagosta (Barcelona), Renault (€2.9 million) in Villamuriel de Cerrato (Palencia), EFI Cretaprint (€2.4 million) in Almassora (Castellón), and Linqcase Industrial Solutions (€2.2 million) in Astigarraga (Gipuzkoa).

The Minister of Industry and Tourism, Jordi Hereu, during his recent visit to the College of Economists of Catalonia, highlighted the importance of Catalan companies’ participation in this funding line, with €7.3 million awarded in Catalonia to six companies, of which more than €2.6 million is allocated to Lleida (Mollerussa, Miralcamp, and the city of Lleida).

The program aims to strengthen the competitiveness of Spanish industry by facilitating its transition toward a more innovative, sustainable, and digital economy. To achieve this, it supports projects that promote R&D&I, sustainability and energy efficiency, and digitalization as key drivers to improve productivity, reduce environmental impact, and modernize production processes.

It also seeks to enhance the country’s strategic autonomy by supporting critical sectors through investments that increase the resilience of the industrial fabric and its capacity to adapt to technological and regulatory changes. This new initiative, which consolidates and revitalizes the Ministry’s previous IDI and ACTIVA programs, responds to the need to complete the industrial sector’s adaptation to the profound changes taking place in technological innovation, sustainability, and digitalization.

With this funding program, the Government reinforces its commitment to a stronger, more innovative industry prepared to compete in a demanding global environment. The approved investments will help advance toward a more robust production model, capable of addressing future challenges and seizing the opportunities of the green and digital transition. The grants can be consulted on the Ministry of Industry and Tourism’s portal.
