The Gaviota Group continues to advance its growth and industrial integration strategy following the incorporation of Atitlan and Stoneshield Capital as shareholders in the group. The Alicante-based company, one of Spain’s largest manufacturers of awnings, shutters, and enclosure systems, is consolidating a model focused on the industrialization of the construction materials sector, supplier integration, and the creation of a structure organized around three major business units.

This process forms part of the shared commitment between the new investment partners and Francis Guillén to position The Gaviota Group as an international benchmark within the sector. The company currently has a commercial presence in more than 80 countries.

As part of this strategy, the group has identified the construction glass sector as one of its key growth areas. In this context, Gaviota Simbac has received authorization from the Commercial Court Division of the Madrid Court of First Instance to acquire the productive unit formed by three companies belonging to Glass Madrid Berlanas, a manufacturer and distributor of windows that had entered insolvency proceedings.

The transaction includes the incorporation of around 20 employees and the lease of the production facility located near Loeches (Madrid). Summa Iuris acted as insolvency administrator, while Argoss Partners and DLA Piper served as financial and legal advisors to Gaviota, respectively.

The acquisition is part of the group’s strategy to gain scale through the integration of both suppliers and distributors linked to the construction sector, with a particular focus on the glass window and enclosure industry. The objective is to cover the entire value chain and strengthen the supply of strategic materials in a context where energy costs have a significant impact on the glass industry.

In addition, Glass Madrid Berlanas maintains distribution and supply relationships with Guardian Industries, whose former plant in Spain has also become part of Gaviota’s strategic focus. The Alicante-based group is currently negotiating, together with its partners and the French company VSF, an agreement to restart operations at this facility and at Glavista, both located in Álava.

Through these moves, The Gaviota Group is reinforcing its commitment to building an integrated industrial platform capable of leading the transformation of the enclosure systems and construction materials sector both in Spain and internationally.
