The Garaia Technology Park brought together around fifty people for a new edition of the industrial startup investment forum, organized by MONDRAGON.

With 53 chapters in 27 countries worldwide (five of them in Spain) and highly active promotion and financing activity, Keiretsu Forum provides its investor members with a platform to network and find opportunities to invest between €100,000 and €1 million in high-growth potential companies across all sectors (technology, clean energy, health sciences, consumer products, etc.). From its founding in Spain in 2008 until 2015, its members invested €20 million in the capital of 78 innovative companies presented at the forums.

On Thursday, March 12, the fifth edition of a new forum was held in Garaia. Always in partnership with MONDRAGON, eight startups were presented during the day to an audience of 130 attendees, both in-person and online, with strong representation from MONDRAGON cooperatives and key players from the investment and corporate ecosystem.

“We continue improving our process of better understanding the keys to diversification, and Keiretsu Forum, culturally, offers us very interesting opportunities for our businesses,” said Joseba Sagastigordia, Director of MONDRAGON Ventures, in his welcome address. Sagastigordia added, “Keiretsu is one of the best global platforms for discovering new projects.”

The event began with a roundtable on DeepTech for industry, aimed at analyzing and presenting how investment in DeepTech technologies is transforming the industry, the current challenges in the ecosystem, and the opportunities for startups, corporations, and investors. Participants included:

  • Amaya Tanco, Analyst at Clave Capital
  • Alberto Donà, Analyst at CORBITES
  • Nacho Sala Amat, Partner at Grow Venture Partners
  • José María García Orois, Business Development at SETT Spain
  • Miquel Costa Planas, President and CEO of Keiretsu Forum Spain

Following the debate, eight industrial startups presented their projects to the investor community, including proposals from sectors such as DeepTech, Robotics, Aerospace, and Electric Mobility

Before the afternoon session, the Keiretsu community visited the Otalora Cooperative Training Center in Aretxabaleta and participated in a guided tour of MONE with Ander Etxeberria, Head of Cooperative Outreach
