BigGuardian, the Spanish startup specializing in remote clinical diagnostics for livestock, has successfully closed a €1.5 million investment round led by Swanlaab Innvierte Agrifood-Tech, with the participation of Aval-CLM.

This capital injection will enable BigGuardian to optimize the costs of its technology platform, strengthen its commercial structure, and accelerate its growth in strategic markets, with the goal of increasing its revenue tenfold before 2025.

The investment will also be allocated to the further development of the company’s technology and the large-scale deployment of its solutions in cattle and pig farms.

BigGuardian has developed its own platform for continuous monitoring of livestock body temperature, based on IoT devices and advanced data analytics. This solution allows for the early detection of anomalies and the onset of infectious diseases, enabling more effective veterinary interventions, reducing production losses, and improving farm health management.

BigGuardian’s solution operates through devices installed on animals that collect temperature data and transmit it to an online dashboard accessible to farmers. The service is offered under a subscription model that provides access to real-time analytics and daily treatment recommendations, also helping to improve animal welfare and reduce the unnecessary use of antibiotics in livestock production.

“Infectious diseases are the leading cause of economic losses. A global problem that is addressed with a global solution that is easy to implement on farms worldwide,” said BigGuardian co-founder Iñaki Espinosa.

With this funding, BigGuardian strengthens its position to continue transforming animal health through precision technology, providing a scalable tool for the global livestock sector
