The Council of Ministers has authorized the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Administration , through the Spanish Society for Technological Transformation (SETT) , to invest 19.8 million euros in the company Good Films Studios Spain, to establish in Spain an independent film production studio that will tackle large-scale international projects.

This investment, which is part of a public-private partnership totaling 40.5 million euros , will not only allow the production of globally competitive titles , but also the retention of national intellectual property and access to international markets through the expertise of its founders.

The origin of this new company lies in Good Films, a British corporation founded in 2007 with a consolidated cinematic trajectory , which is committed to the Spanish audiovisual sector through the financial support of Orogen , a Canadian and American capital vehicle specializing in film.

The new company, Good Films Studios Spain, is located in Alicante , at the Ciudad de la Luz studios , which will in itself generate a huge pulling effect in the audiovisual field, encouraging local employment, the development of training plans and the attraction of qualified talent.

Thanks to this operation, the project is expected to generate €215 million in direct investment in Spain over the first five years, as well as an additional €390 million from indirect effects and sectoral multipliers . The productive activity will mobilize a broad ecosystem of technical and artistic professionals and support companies, including production, post-production, logistics, transportation, set design, and digital creative services, as well as the training of new professionals.

The team that makes up the company has extensive experience in international independent film production, which allows Good Films Studios Spain to fully integrate into the audiovisual value chain through the development, financial structuring, production and exploitation of feature films outside our borders.

This company seeks to position itself in the mid-to-high-budget independent film segment, with projects ranging from 17 to 25 million euros , a range that allows for hybrid financial schemes and ensures adequate projection in international markets and platforms.

This operation is part of the second phase of the Spain Audiovisual Hub Plan , an initiative that is part of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, and financed by the European Union – Next Generation funds – and is led by the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Function , through the State Secretariat for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence (SEDIA) .

Alongside the Spain Audiovisual Hub , SETT manages two more financial instruments to boost the technological business ecosystem: PERTE Chip , dedicated to microelectronics and semiconductors, and Next Tech , which encourages private investment and improves access to financing in strategic Spanish sectors linked to digital transformation.
