SeniorDomo , the advanced telecare platform founded in Barcelona as a spin-off of the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC), has closed a new funding round led by Bcombinator, which joins the cap table alongside existing investors: Archipelago Next VC, Invergy BSide —the investment vehicle of the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya—, as well as several family offices and private investors. The funds raised will be used to accelerate growth in the markets where the company already operates and to complete its product roadmap.
The transaction comes at a moment of clear maturity for SeniorDomo: the company has reached operational break-even and has provided services to more than 12,500 families since its founding in 2019, with active presence in Spain, Italy, and France, consolidating its position as one of the leading operators in the advanced telecare segment in Southern Europe.
Technology processing more than 6 million data points per day
At the core of SeniorDomo’s value proposition is its standalone smart watch —which does not require a connected mobile device— operating with 4G coverage across the European Union and capable of detecting risk situations in real time: falls, movement anomalies, disorientation associated with conditions such as Alzheimer’s, abnormal heart rate, and unusual inactivity. The platform currently processes more than 6 million data points per day in real time to automatically trigger emergency alerts or anomaly notifications.
SeniorDomo is the only operator in the market offering a hybrid model: users can choose between fully automated emergency response plans or plans supported by a 24/7 human-operated call center. In addition to 24-hour emergency assistance, the platform also includes a 24/7 telemedicine service, providing a comprehensive solution for protection and health for elderly users and peace of mind for their families.
Strategic partnerships and institutional growth
Revenue from distributors and the public sector currently represents around 25% of SeniorDomo’s total revenue, and it is the fastest-growing segment. The company has served more than 50 municipalities and sector entities, with references in cities such as Alcobendas, Alcorcón, Aitona, and Manlleu in Spain, as well as Bergamo, Turin, and Venice in Italy. In the public sector, SeniorDomo is advancing alongside Eulen Sociosanitarios in delivering services to new municipalities, with very positive adoption among users.
This momentum also extends to the private channel, where new partnerships are accelerating growth. The most recent example is SeniorDomo’s incorporation as the official advanced telecare provider for Cuideo —one of the leading home care companies in Spain—, illustrating the type of agreements the company is closing as it continues to expand its presence among key players in both the public and private sectors.
Roadmap: new services and target of 10,000 active families by 2027
Following the investment, SeniorDomo will accelerate the development of a complementary solution to its smart watch, connected to protection sensors and health devices, enabling a differentiated and unique value proposition in the market. The company aims to reach 10,000 active families by 2027.
Technology to prevent system overload amid the demographic challenge
The context driving SeniorDomo’s mission is one of high social urgency. By 2030, one in three people in Europe will be over 65, putting unprecedented pressure on both public and private care systems. In Spain, more than 120,000 people are currently on waiting lists to have their dependency status officially recognized and to access public assistance, forcing them to rely on private solutions in the meantime.
"SeniorDomo’s mission is to become the most advanced and affordable technology on the market so that anyone can access it. With this new funding round, we strengthen our growth and product capabilities in the markets where we operate. Technology must be the key to ensuring that the public-private system does not collapse under the upcoming demographic challenge. We are in the right place, with the right team, and now with the right investor backing to continue growing." — Ángel Puertas, CEO and co-founder of SeniorDomo
