Sego Venture, the venture capital arm of SegoFinance Group specializing in investments in innovative companies, celebrates with PLD Space a unique milestone in Europe: three years of strategic partnership that have enabled thousands of private investors to participate in one of the continent’s most promising space companies, contributing a total of €10 million.

Thanks to this pioneering collaboration, PLD Space, a European leader in the development of reusable launchers, has accelerated its expansion and access to space, in the context of its recent €180 million Series C funding round, led by Mitsubishi Electric Corporation and COFIDES, and also supported by CDTI and INNVIERTE, among other institutional investors.

Democratizing investment in New Space: the SATELITE model

Through the vehicle company SATELITE, organized by Sego Venture, private investors have been able to collectively participate in a high-potential space-sector operation that they would otherwise have had no access to.

SATELITE has become the SPV with the largest number of shareholders linked to a New Space company in Europe, a milestone demonstrating the power of well-executed collective investment and the growing maturity of the retail investor ecosystem in frontier technology projects.

A unique success story in Europe

The agreement between Sego Venture and PLD Space represents the largest exercise of democratizing access to the space sector ever carried out on the continent. While these types of investments are usually reserved for large specialized funds, the model promoted by Sego Venture has allowed retail investors to participate in a company that:

  • Has raised over €350 million since its foundation, positioning itself among the most advanced private companies in the world in complete launcher system development.
  • Prepares for its first commercial operations with the MIURA 5 rocket in 2026, with plans to exceed 30 launches annually by 2030.
  • Advances in the construction of strategic international infrastructure, consolidating Spain as a reference in space technology.

A partnership based on vision and access

Since 2023, the fintech has understood that adapting private capital to sector needs is key to enabling companies like PLD Space to reach take-off speed. “Our mission is to open doors. SATELITE demonstrates that a private investor can participate in projects that are changing the country’s technological history. The investment in PLD Space is a perfect example of the type of opportunities we want to make accessible to everyone,” says Javier Melero, Director of Sego Venture.

Over these three years, the SATELITE vehicle has become a benchmark for channeling retail capital into a high-complexity technology company, maintaining corporate governance and management standards comparable to professional funds.

The future of New Space will also be participatory

The success of PLD Space’s recent Series C round confirms the project’s strength and validates the value generated by SATELITE investors. The company from Elche is now at the forefront of European space innovation, and Sego Venture reaffirms its vision: to enable private investors to be part of the future of the 21st century’s most strategic industry.
