Ángel Villaverde, partner at RSM, acting as insolvency administrator of NeoElectra, is leading a process for the sale of 16 facilities with more than 200 MWh of electrical capacity, offering investors and operators a compelling opportunity within a more stable and sustainable regulatory framework.

Joan Groizard, Spain’s Secretary of State for Energy, has confirmed that auctions for high-efficiency cogeneration will be launched during the first half of 2026, following authorisation from the European Commission. This development brings greater certainty to the industrial sector, which has operated for years within an uncertain regulatory environment, and facilitates medium- and long-term investment planning.

Offers are expected to be submitted until the first week of April. The company owns 16 facilities with a combined capacity of more than 200 MWh(e), established and operational assets that reflect its technological expertise and adaptability, and which are well positioned to participate in the upcoming cogeneration auctions and capture opportunities arising from the sector’s recovery
