CaixaBank has completed a €4 million transaction with Qida, the social impact company specialised in high-quality products and services for the senior population, through its Venture Debt alternative financing fund and the specialised DayOne division. This is one of the most significant transactions since the vehicle was launched and is aimed at consolidating the market position of a benchmark company in the field of care and support for older people.

The financing will enable Qida to drive its growth through acquisitions, integrating care companies in new territories to reach more people and strengthen its impact. In addition, its objectives include attracting and developing key talent to address the next phase of growth, as well as boosting investment in technology by consolidating and expanding Qida’s digital capabilities to gain efficiency, enhance service quality and improve the experience of both families and care professionals.

This transaction forms part of CaixaBank’s strategy to support technology-driven and innovative companies at all stages of their development, providing flexible financial solutions tailored to their growth needs. The Venture Debt fund, with a total size of €150 million and funded from the bank’s own balance sheet, allows investments of between €1 million and €15 million per transaction, with maturities of up to 48 months and grace periods of up to 18 months.

Strategic alliance to promote innovative solutions for the senior population

The financed company, a client of the specialised DayOne segment and considered a strategic partner of CaixaBank, strengthens its alliance with the bank through this transaction, consolidating CaixaBank’s position as the reference bank for the innovation economy in Spain and Portugal. The transaction highlights CaixaBank’s commitment to the technology ecosystem and its focus on responsible growth, the creation of qualified employment and long-term value creation.

The Venture Debt fund complements the debt product offering of the Global Lending Solutions team within Corporate Banking and adds to the Added Value Fund, in operation since January 2023, consolidating CaixaBank as a leading institution in financial solutions for innovative companies.

CaixaBank and Qida maintain a strategic alliance that enables them to work together to offer innovative, high value-added services, reinforcing their commitment to the wellbeing and quality of life of older people. In addition, VidaCaixa has an agreement with Qida linked to the MyBox VidaCare product, an insurance policy that covers loss of autonomy resulting from neurodegenerative diseases and provides prevention services and personalised advice to policyholders.

This collaboration is aimed at promoting joint initiatives focused on support, expert guidance and improving the experience of older people and their families in the care environment.
