The venture capital fund Plus Partners has surpassed €45 million in commitments for its first investment vehicle, bringing it close to its €50 million hard cap.
Since receiving authorization from Spain’s National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) around a year ago, the firm has completed its first six investments. Companies backed so far include Orbio, Uptail, and Punto Health, among other portfolio startups like Stealth, TietAI and Adcities.
The fund’s investors include prominent figures from the Spanish tech ecosystem such as Verónica Pascual, linked to Asti; Javier de la Torre, co-founder of Carto; and Philippe Gelis, from Kantox. Several family offices have also joined the initiative.
In addition to private capital, Plus Partners has institutional backing from the Institut Català de Finances (ICF) and the Sociedad Española para la Transformación Tecnológica (SETT), a public entity attached to Spain’s Ministry for Digital Transformation.
“We have built Plus Partners on a very unusual capital base: entrepreneurs who have already created value and now want to reinvest their experience in the next generation of founders. That alignment is what allows us to be true partners from day one,” said Oriol Juncosa, founding partner at Plus Partners.
Along the same lines, Enrique Linares, the fund’s other founding partner, stressed that “many startups do not fail because of technology, but because of poor decisions made in the early years: people, leadership, and focus. That is why at Plus Partners we do not just invest capital; we work very closely with founders during the moments when they feel most alone and when strong support can have the greatest impact.”
The fund focuses its strategy on early-stage startups, with particular emphasis on talent, commercial growth through connections with potential clients, and support in future fundraising rounds. Its investment thesis is especially tied to companies driving the adoption of artificial intelligence.
Among its first investments is Orbio, an HR platform powered by AI agents aimed at improving the productivityof HR teams in recruitment, onboarding, and training processes for high-turnover roles. Its clients include Rivera Salud — Spain’s second-largest private hospital group — as well as AT&T Retail, Adecco LATAM, Honest Greens, and Vicio.
Another investment is Uptail, an AI-agent platform designed to optimize inbound sales efficiency and scale commercial operations through WhatsApp. The company works with clients such as Glovo, Impress, and Unir.
