Onalabs, a Barcelona-based deep tech company specializing in continuous, non-invasive health monitoring solutions through sweat analysis, has raised more than €9.3 million in a new funding round.

The transaction includes a €4.6 million investment from the Spanish Society for Technological Transformation (SETT), an entity attached to Spain's Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Administration, through the Next Tech facility under Spain's Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan and the European Union's NextGenerationEU funds.

The round also attracted participation from 1921 Ventures, an Austrian diabetes-focused investment fund led by Fredrik Debong, founder of mySugr; Singapore-based investment fund nPrime, founded by Roger Parellada and backed by a strong network across Europe and Asia; strategic entrepreneurs; and existing investors including Reig Patrimonia and WA4STEAM, both of which renewed their commitment to Onalabs.

The proceeds will be used to accelerate the industrialization of ONASPORT, which has already entered the commercial phase, and expand its market reach. The company will also advance the clinical and regulatory validation of ONAVITAL, support the development of its diabetes-focused product line, increase its industrial capacity, and strengthen local manufacturing of its devices. In parallel, Onalabs plans to expand its team, reinforce its in-house sensor development capabilities, and continue its international expansion.

"This round represents much more than an injection of capital. It recognizes years of research, development and validation, while reflecting the confidence of a group of investors who share our vision for the future of healthcare. For a deep tech company like Onalabs, developing disruptive technology requires time, talent and long-term commitment. This support enables us to accelerate the journey from innovation to market and demonstrate that transformative health technologies can be developed from our ecosystem," said Elisabet del Valle, Co-founder and CEO of Onalabs.

Founded in Barcelona by Elisabet del Valle and Xavier Muñoz, Onalabs currently employs 30 professionals and has built a portfolio of six patents protecting its proprietary technology. In healthcare, the company is conducting pilot projects with more than ten hospitals to validate its solutions in real clinical settings. In the sports segment, it has strengthened its collaboration with FC Barcelona and is advancing joint initiatives with leading companies such as Garmin to improve interoperability and explore new commercial opportunities.

Onalabs' proprietary technology continuously and non-invasively captures physiological information through sweat, with applications across healthcare and sports. ONASPORT monitors performance-related biomarkers including lactate, hydration, electrolyte loss and sodium levels, and is already commercially available. ONAVITAL, designed for healthcare applications, continuously measures parameters such as blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen saturation and body temperature, and is progressing through clinical and regulatory validation.

The latest funding follows several previous financing rounds throughout the company's development. These include a €1.5 million seed round completed in 2022, a bridge round in 2023 that brought FC Barcelona on board as a strategic shareholder, and the current financing exceeding €9.3 million. Alongside its private funding, Onalabs has secured more than €4 million in competitive public funding through Catalan, Spanish and European innovation programmes.
