The National Association of Excellence Promoting Centers (CEX) has announced the eight winning projects of the national phase of the 2025 Quality Innovation Award (QIA), an initiative in collaboration with the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) and the Basque University System Quality Agency (UNIBASQ). Among the awarded organizations is Ojer Pharma Laboratories, recognized in the SME Innovation category.
The competition, created in Finland in 2007 by Excellence Finland, aims to promote innovation through knowledge sharing and the dissemination of projects that stand out for their impact, usefulness, and distinctive character. In this edition, nearly one hundred submissions were received from companies, technology centers, universities, and public organizations from different autonomous communities.
Awarded Innovation: Sustained-Release Bioadhesive Gels in Human and Veterinary Dermatology (GTP)
Ojer Pharma Laboratories has been recognized for its platform of sustained-release bioadhesive gels (GTP), a technology designed to optimize the efficacy and safety profile of dermatological treatments. These transparent, bioadhesive gels act as a matrix that releases the active ingredient in a controlled manner, promoting therapeutic adherence in both humans and animals, and providing an optimal alternative to conventional treatments.

About the Quality Innovation Awards
The QIA is an international competition with two phases: national and international. In the national phase, entries are initially evaluated by experts who assess the level of innovation, usefulness, scalability, and user focus. Subsequently, a jury composed of representatives from the Excellence Promoting Centers (CEX) selects the winning organizations and category runners-up. Innovations awarded in Spain will now compete in the international phase, where representatives from various countries will evaluate the finalists to select the global winners of the 2026 Quality Innovation Awards.
