Indra Group has reached an agreement with Teknei, a technology company based in Bilbao specialized in consulting, software development and IT solutions, for the sale of its Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) unit in Spain, Colombia, Italy, Peru, Mexico, Chile and Portugal for 96.6 million euros. Teknei is a leading operator in this sector with a strong commitment to excellence and innovation. Both companies will work together to ensure a smooth integration for professionals, teams and clients. NORGESTION acted as Teknei’s financial advisor in this transaction.
The deal is part of Indra Group’s “Leading the Future” Strategic Plan, aimed at strengthening the company’s positioning in key sectors such as Defence, Aerospace and Advanced Digital Technologies. The BPO business generated 196 million euros in revenue in 2024. For Teknei, this is a transaction aligned with its strategic growth plan, which aims to reach 1 billion euros in revenue by 2030. In addition, the acquisition reinforces its leadership in the technological services and process outsourcing market, where it has major clients in sectors such as banking, insurance and public administration.
The sale of the BPO unit to Teknei will ensure operational continuity and service quality for all clients through the transfer of contracts and technology. One of the core elements of the transaction has been the orderly transfer of professionals. The agreement includes a social clause guaranteeing the transfer of more than 5,000 employees to Teknei, with the commitment not only to maintain their jobs for at least two years after the closing of the transaction, but also to preserve their current conditions and seniority.
According to José Vicente de los Mozos, CEO of Indra Group, this transaction “allows us to advance in the execution of our ‘Leading the Future’ Strategic Plan and direct our investments toward priority sectors in our roadmap, where we believe we can lead solutions at the European level. The transaction has been designed in a way that ensures service continuity for clients and job preservation for the professionals of the BPO business. Teknei is a Spanish company with extensive experience and recognition in the sector, which will provide continuity and new opportunities for the talent that has driven the growth of the BPO business.”
For his part, Joseba Lekube, CEO of Teknei, stated that the acquisition of Indra Group’s BPO business “represents a decisive step that will help us scale up and strengthen our position in the technology services market. With this incorporation, we add critical capabilities in complex processes and highly specialized talent, offering more comprehensive, innovative and tailored solutions to our clients’ needs. We are convinced that it will be a lever to accelerate our growth and bring us closer to our 2030 goal.”
