Nina Capital has announced its investment in IO Health, a U.S.-based company pioneering intelligent solutions for post-acute and home-based care. The company has successfully closed a seed funding round led by Nina Capital to accelerate the growth of its AI-powered platform, ioAssist.

This investment aligns with Nina Capital’s mission of supporting technologies that improve care delivery workflows and financial integrity across critical and resource-constrained areas of healthcare. IO Health addresses the widespread inefficiencies and inaccuracies in point-of-care documentation within home health — a key issue that leads to significant downstream costs, compliance risks, and potential underpayment.

The company’s core innovation, a non-intrusive real-time guidance system, provides context-aware prompts to clinicians during documentation. Its unique architecture, which does not require back-end EMR integration, allows deployment within days rather than months, while preserving existing agency workflows.

Through its platform, IO Health delivers measurable value to home health agencies by:

  • Reducing care transition failures.
  • Simplifying documentation workflows.
  • Enhancing reimbursement and regulatory readiness.

By improving functional scoring accuracy, the platform directly impacts reimbursement rates. One customer noted: “We’ve seen a dramatic reduction in our OASIS corrections. Our third-party QA reviewers confirm that our documentation accuracy has improved significantly.”

As part of this partnership, Marc Subirats, General Partner at Nina Capital, has joined IO Health’s Board of Directors. As the founder and former CEO of Advance Medical (acquired by Teladoc Health), Subirats brings extensive operational experience in scaling within the healthcare ecosystem, which will be instrumental for IO Health’s next phase of growth.

Nina Capital believes that IO Health’s non-disruptive, results-oriented approach positions the company as a critical layer of infrastructure within the home health and hospice ecosystem.
