More than 120 people joined us on July 3rd to celebrate the 100th edition of our Entrepreneur Acceleration Program. As usual, this edition concluded with DemoDay, our online networking event — which, this time, was packed with surprises, special prizes, and many guests.
Winning Projects
During the networking event, the top projects from the 100th Acceleration Program had the opportunity to pitch their ideas in the Pitch Combat — quick one-minute rounds in which each entrepreneur must defend their project before a jury made up of members of the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
This time, Ester Pérez Ribada emerged as the winner of the combat with her project Teamworkz. Teamworkz defines itself as a 360° consultancy specialized in business neuroinclusion. The project promotes the hiring, support, and management of neurodivergent talent — a label that its founder and CEO identifies with. Although, as Ester argues, neurodivergence “isn’t a label,” it is the solution to low productivity in companies.
Following the announcement of her victory, the winner of the InvestDay was also revealed — the event where investors are invited to discover the most investable projects of the edition and give them their verdict, which took place the day before DemoDay.
Expert investors chose EarthEVents and its founder, Elena Rotaru, as the most investable project of this edition. EarthEVents is a collaborative digital platform that connects travelers with living, authentic cultural experiences in real time, helping them discover and share local stories and moments.
Lastly, the entrepreneur who put in the most work accelerating their project during this edition was Armando Crespillo, who earned a total of 4,199 points, placing him at the top of the ranking.
Highlights
As expected, the Pitch Combat was the central focus of the event — but it was surrounded by many surprises to mark such a special milestone: the celebration of our 100th edition.
The mentorDay team looked back on these 100 editions, from their beginnings in 2015, and shared an analysis of the impact achieved so far. Throughout the evening, different members of the community — alumni, mentors, partners (including an African partner) — took the floor to share their experiences and the value mentorDay has brought to them. Special prizes were raffled among all participants, in addition to the hundreds of perks already available to the mentorDay community on its mentorPERKS page: from a signed copy of Emprender con calma by its author Patricia Araque, to six free months of coworking in Tenerife, and the creation of a case study with an in-depth interview for three people.
The event wrapped up with a dynamic networking session in small groups, where participants were invited to share the value mentorDay has provided so far and their best wishes for the future editions of the program.
100th Edition Recap
The 100th edition of the mentorDay Acceleration Program kicked off on June 16th with 247 registered participants who actively joined the first acceleration phase, which lasts 30 days. During this phase, entrepreneurs spend an average of one hour a day reading and completing TIPs — a key practice for strengthening their initial knowledge and boosting their projects. As a new feature this time, access to deliverables (completed in phase 2) and AI-powered mentors was provided right from the start of phase 1. Of the total, 235 advanced to phase 2, which consists of three intensive weeks of acceleration workshops.
In the end, 30 entrepreneurs successfully accelerated their projects and earned their certification. They now move on to phase 3 of the program, where they’ll be matched with a mentor based on their specific needs, receiving one-on-one guidance for a year as they develop their projects. We know that entrepreneurship can be lonely — so this final phase aims to provide expert knowledge and personalized support, ensuring founders have a trusted advisor to turn to along the way.
Mentor Certification
Another milestone of the program is the certification of new mentors, who join our pool of volunteer mentors available to support entrepreneurs for one year with one session per month. In this edition, the required mentoring practice for mentor certification took place on June 26th, resulting in 29 new certified mentors.
The next workshop for new mentors to get certified will be held on August 28th.
