Mapfre appoints Jorge Colomer as the new CEO of Mapfre AM, the group’s asset management arm. Colomer, a professional with extensive experience in the financial sector, will lead the firm at a key moment as Mapfre intensifies its strategic focus on the financial business, strengthening its presence in investment, savings and wealth management solutions.

“Jorge Colomer’s appointment represents a decisive boost to strengthen our positioning in the asset management industry,” said Juan Bernal, Chief Investment Officer at Mapfre, who highlighted his deep market knowledge and ability to lead teams in highly competitive environments.

Colomer holds a degree in Economics and Business Administration from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and has solid financial training, including the CESGA ESG Analyst certification. With more than 25 years of professional experience, he has developed his career in investment, asset management and private banking, holding senior roles at leading national and international institutions.

The new executive succeeds Álvaro Anguita, who has successfully led the asset manager since its creation more than 30 years ago. Initially focused on the efficient management of the Group’s balance sheet, the firm has in recent years expanded its offering to provide investment products to both retail and institutional clients, reaching assets under management of nearly €40 billion.

With this appointment, Mapfre reinforces its commitment to building a strong and differentiated project within the financial sector, promoting innovation in investment products, sustainability and an increasingly client-focused service
