Lexcrea advises Parlem on the acquisition of BlauFibra

The Catalan group Parlem Telecom has formalized the acquisition of the local operator BlauFibra, which provides telecommunications services in municipalities of Vallès Oriental and Vallès Occidental, with the aim of accelerating its territorial expansion and strengthening its presence in Catalonia. Lexcrea (Silvia Martínez Losas and Vadym Pidhorodetskyy) advised Parlem on the transaction.

The deal is part of Parlem’s strategy based on a model of proximity, territorial roots, and operational efficiency. With the integration of BlauFibra — headquartered in Mollet del Vallès — Parlem incorporates more than 1,700 fiber optic clients, 1,800 mobile clients, 550 complementary services customers, and around 6,000 housing units wired with its own fiber network.

According to industry sources, the payment structure provides that 70% of the transaction will be paid in cash at closing, while the remaining 30% will be settled after six months, subject to BlauFibra’s billing performance during 2025. Parlem has stated that the acquisition “will not have a significant impact on its accounts,” while representing a relevant step in its consolidation strategy in the Catalan telecom market.

Parlem’s CEO, Xavier Capellades, highlighted that “with BlauFibra we expand our presence in Vallès and continue to promote a model based on proximity, quality, and commitment to the country.”

The integration of BlauFibra strengthens Parlem’s dual growth approach — both organic and inorganic — by incorporating profitable local operators with their own networks. In addition, this deal takes place in parallel with Parlem’s negotiations to acquire Avatel’s assets in Catalonia, Valencia, and the Balearic Islands, pointing to a broader consolidation strategy in the region.

With this acquisition, Parlem takes a firm step in reshaping the regional telecommunications landscape, adding scale, network, and infrastructure in a strategic area of the Barcelona metropolitan region.
