Las Muns, the pioneering gourmet empanada chain in Spain, has closed a €1.85 million funding round with the entry of Family Offices and Business Angels from the food and beverage sector, several of them smart money investors with extensive experience in organized restaurant concepts and foodservice brand scaling.

The main objective of the round is to strengthen the company’s production capacity through the relocation to a new central kitchen (obrador), a strategic investment that will allow Las Muns to triple its current production and provide the infrastructure needed to accelerate both national and international growth.

With this move, Las Muns continues to consolidate a model focused on positioning the empanada as a differentiated alternative within the QSR (Quick Service Restaurant) segment—fast food with high quality standards. The investment will enable the company to:

  • Operate a larger and more efficient production facility.
  • Ensure supply for new points of sale in Spain and abroad.
  • Scale the business while maintaining quality, consistency and profitability.

“This round allows us to move into the next phase of growth while safeguarding our core values: quality, innovation and product consistency. The investment from our partners reflects their confidence in a solid and replicable model,” says Mariano Najles, CEO and co-founder. “The new production facility is the lever that will allow us to grow faster, better, and with a structure ready to compete internationally.”

With more than 50 points of sale and a presence in several European and North American markets, Las Muns is at a key moment in its evolution. The new production infrastructure will support the growth of the existing network and enable faster and more robust expansion into new locations.

A model ready to scale

The company plans to continue expanding in strategic markets such as Portugal, Germany, Switzerland and Canada, leveraging a QSR model that combines gourmet products, operational efficiency and a recognizable brand.

“The key is not just opening in new countries, but doing so with a robust and replicable model,” says Diego Rojas, chef and co-founder. “This investment allows us to scale without losing control over product quality.”

Las Muns also maintains a constant innovation strategy through collaborations with renowned chefs, such as Michelin-starred chef Nandu Jubany, with whom it has developed two exclusive empanadas that elevate the product to a premium category.

The entry of new partners further strengthens the company’s strategic vision by contributing know-how, networks and international growth experience—key elements for this new phase.

Ready for a new growth stage

With this funding round, Las Muns consolidates its position as one of the leading players in the gourmet empanada market and takes a decisive step toward accelerating its expansion, supported by a solid industrial base prepared for growth.
