• CDTI has announced a new INNOGLOBAL FEDER 2026 call, aimed at financing the participation of Spanish companies in International Technological Cooperation Projects (ITCPs) carried out in collaboration with international partners.

    The call has a budget of €30.25 million, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) under Spain’s Multi-Regional Programme 2021–2027. Its objective is to strengthen the international competitiveness of Spanish companies through the joint development of new technologies, products, and innovative services.

    What is INNOGLOBAL?

    INNOGLOBAL is CDTI’s funding instrument designed to support the participation of Spanish companies in international technological cooperation projects in the field of R&D.

    The programme finances the activities of companies participating in international R&D consortia within international technological cooperation programmes, including:

  • Multilateral projects
  • Bilateral projects
  • International projects with unilateral certification recognized by CDTI

Its purpose is to facilitate the internationalization of business innovation, promote technological collaboration with foreign entities, and accelerate the market introduction of new technological solutions.

Eligible Applicants

The following entities may apply:

  • Companies legally established with their own legal personality and tax domicile in Spain.
  • Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
  • Large companies located in the Canary Islands (the project management must be based in this autonomous community).
  • Mid-cap companies with fewer than 499 employees.
  • Projects carried out in eligible autonomous communities.
  • Comunidades autónomas elegibles.

    Eligible Regions

    Projects must be carried out in one of the following autonomous communities (regions) of Spain:

  • Andalusia
  • Castilla-La Mancha
  • Extremadura
  • Balearic Islands
  • Canary Islands
  • Castile and León
  • Valencian Community
  • Galicia
  • Region of Murcia
  • Ceuta
  • Melilla

International Technological Cooperation

The project must be developed within one of the international technological cooperation programmes recognized by CDTI and must hold the corresponding international certification.

Project Characteristics

Type and Intensity of Funding

Funding will be awarded in the form of a grant, with the following maximum aid intensities:

  • Large enterprises: 65%
  • Medium-sized enterprises: 75%
  • Small enterprises: 80%

The individual grant amount will be determined based on:

  • The actual eligible project costs;
  • The characteristics of the beneficiary;
  • Whether the project is carried out in assisted regions;
  • Budget availability;
  • The maximum ERDF co-financing rate applicable to the region where the project is implemented; and
  • The maximum ERDF funds available in each region.

ERDF Co-financing Rates by Region

Less-developed regions (up to 85%)

  • Andalusia
  • Castilla-La Mancha
  • Extremadura
  • Ceuta
  • Melilla

Transition regions (up to 60%; up to 85% in the Canary Islands)

  • Balearic Islands
  • Canary Islands
  • Castile and León
  • Valencian Community
  • Galicia
  • Region of Murcia

In all cases, the grant awarded will not be less than 33% of the eligible project budget.

For each project and beneficiary, the applicable aid intensity will be determined according to the proportion of each type of activity within the project and the corresponding maximum aid intensity allowed for those activities.

Budget Allocation and Financing

The INNOGLOBAL 2026 call has a total budget allocation of €30.25 million, co-financed by ERDF 2021–2027 funds.

The ERDF co-financing, channelled through Spain’s Multi-Regional Programme, will be fully advanced by CDTI and is subject to the funding limits available for each autonomous community during the 2025–2027 period.

Eligible Costs

The following costs are eligible under this call:

  • Personnel costs: Technical staff directly involved in the project and employed at a workplace located in the autonomous community where the project is carried out.
  • Equipment and capitalized materials costs.
  • Subcontracted research and technical consultancy services.
  • General expenses and consumables.
  • Audit costs: Up to €1,500 per year.
  • Travel expenses for international consortium meetings: Up to €10,000 per project, excluding subsistence and accommodation costs.
  • Indirect costs: A flat rate of 15% of eligible direct personnel costs.

Application Deadline

The application period opens on 17 June 2026 and closes on 16 July 2026 at 12:00 noon (CET).
