The transaction marks a significant step in idverde’s European expansion strategy, adding to more than 30 acquisitions completed since 2018.
idverde, Europe’s leading green services group, has entered the Spanish market through the acquisition of a majority stake in El Ejidillo Viveros Integrales, one of Spain’s most established green service providers. This operation represents an important milestone in idverde’s European growth strategy and extends the group’s presence to seven countries. Spain is one of the most attractive green services markets in Europe, driven by growing demand for sustainable green solutions and resilient urban infrastructure.
Founded in 1993 and based in Madrid, El Ejidillo has built a strong reputation thanks to its technical expertise and vertically integrated model, supported by two strategic nurseries located in Segovia and Granada. Its offerings include the design, creation, maintenance, and restoration of natural and urban landscapes, serving both public and private clients across the country. The company also brings specialized expertise in tree care, water management, and climate adaptation, strengthening idverde’s ambition to grow in high-value specialized services across Europe and continue shaping the green services market on the continent.
Operating under extreme temperatures and arid climates, Spain has developed advanced capabilities in water-efficient and climate-adapted ecological services, creating significant opportunities for synergies and innovation across the idverde network.
“Building on the strong growth that El Ejidillo has achieved in recent years, we believe this alliance is the most effective and robust way to continue developing our business, leveraging our technical knowledge and experience. As part of Europe’s leading ecological services specialist, we will be able to offer an even stronger integrated proposition while sharing best practices across the idverde network,” said Enrique Benito Miguel, founder and CEO of El Ejidillo Viveros Integrales. He added, “I would like to thank Livingstone for their professionalism and dedication throughout the process. Their involvement has been essential to the success of this transaction.”
“This acquisition supports our goal of growing responsibly in Europe by partnering with strong local teams and entering one of the continent’s most attractive green services markets. The climate challenges facing Spain are driving demand for water-efficient and climate-adapted green services. By combining El Ejidillo’s local expertise with idverde’s extensive network, we can accelerate innovation and expand the reach of resilient solutions across the region,” said François Gilbart, CEO of idverde Group.
The acquisition has been structured as a long-term partnership. The owners of El Ejidillo will remain at the helm of the business, ensuring continuity and preserving the entrepreneurial DNA that has made the company a market reference.
El Ejidillo was exclusively advised financially by Livingstone and legally by Grant Thornton. Gómez-Acebo & Pombo acted as legal advisor to the buyer, while Interpath provided advice on the deal’s debt structure
