Iberian Smart Financial Agro (ISFA) has taken a key step forward in its strategic roadmap after closing a €50 million investment, led by Three Hills Capital Partners, alongside a group of institutional investors.

This transaction strengthens a business model that combines agricultural development, sustainability and efficiency, and will enable ISFA to significantly accelerate its expansion plans. The capital will be used to deploy approximately 1,000 hectares per year of SES crops (Sustainable and Efficient Systems) across the main agricultural basins of the Iberian Peninsula, as well as to enhance its industrial capabilities and diversify into high-value crops such as pistachios and blueberries, complementing its current focus on almonds.

In this new milestone, the role of Azora is particularly noteworthy. An investor in ISFA since 2022, Azora is maintaining its stake and reaffirming its confidence in the project, the management team and the company’s long-term growth prospects. The founding partners will retain control of the company.

According to Asier Ugaldea, CEO and founding partner of ISFA, the investment “significantly strengthens ISFA’s ability to execute an ambitious growth plan and to consolidate its position as a European benchmark in sustainable agriculture.”

The transaction is subject to approval by the CNMC (Spanish National Commission on Markets and Competition), which is expected during the first half of the year.

This operation once again highlights how patient and specialised capital can act as a genuine accelerator for projects that combine profitability, innovation and sustainability, contributing to the development of a more efficient and resilient agricultural model in the Iberian Peninsula
