Healthcare Activos continues to strengthen its position in Europe, exceeding €150 million invested in Belgium and the overall investment of c. €1 billion in assets with the signature of a binding agreement for the acquisition of two nursing homes in Belgium from Cofinimmo. Closing is not subject to substantial conditions and shall be executed in the coming days.
Located in the municipalities of Balen and Aartselaar, the two assets provide service to total population of 270,000 inhabitants and they are operated by Korian (Clariane) and Armonea (Colisée), leading operators in the healthcare sector in Europe and with extensive experience in elderly care. The two assets have a total of 279 beds and 14,300 sq.m., and both will benefit from a transformational agreement with the operators to significantly invest to improve the carbon footprint and environmental sustainability in accordance with Healthcare Activos' strong commitment to the Paris agreements and the Company’s ESG fundamentals.
The transaction is aligned with Healthcare Activos' investment principles: high share of single rooms with more than 90% of individual beds, sectorization of living areas to favor high standards of quality care and a clear commitment to ESG sustainability policies, in line with its Social Framework certified by Moody's last July with a Very Good rating.
