Grupo Mazana has acquired a majority stake in Sigma Kreas following a capital increase and share purchase, in a corporate transaction that marks a turning point for the Navarrese holding. The news, which has received coverage in regional media and specialized agri-food press, highlights its significance in the meat and livestock sector of the Ebro Valley.
The alliance combines Grupo Mazana’s livestock structure and industrial scale —currently exceeding 100,000 sows— with Sigma Kreas’ capacity for integration, innovation, and operational development. Thanks to this complementarity, the transaction strengthens the project’s stability and accelerates the group’s growth strategy. In this way, Sigma Kreas secures the necessary production volume to operate its slaughterhouse more efficiently, while consolidating a solid foundation for long-term expansion.
In this new scenario, the shareholder framework maintains Pedro Tarrafeta’s leadership of the meat project, ensuring strategic consistency and execution strength. At the same time, the Mazana family will assume management of processes related to livestock activities, providing a complementary structure that strengthens joint governance and improves coordination across the group’s key areas.
Building on this reinforced integration, both companies move forward with a shared roadmap prioritizing rural development, the creation of stable employment, animal welfare, environmental sustainability, and productive efficiency. Planned investments include new livestock facilities, biosecurity improvements, photovoltaic expansions, and modernization of feed factories and logistics systems—initiatives that consolidate an increasingly integrated and future-oriented production model.
The transaction was advised by Maio Legal on behalf of Mazana Grupo Empresarial, and by NORGESTION for Sigma Kreas, completing a process that opens a stage of coordinated growth and greater competitive capacity for the entire holding.
