GoHub, Global Omnium’s open innovation hub, launches the second call for its GoHub Accelerator program to accelerate deep tech startups in the growth phase.

After the success of the first edition, in which eight startups have been part of the program, the hub is looking for new business-to-business (B2B) proposals with a high technological component and market potential that promote, in a transversal way, the urgent digital transformation of industry, the water sector and smart cities.

Through the first call held in 2020, GoHub has invested, among others, in technologies that support 5G connectivity; that apply the Internet of Things (IoT) to new business models; that improve the internal processes of companies with software and contribute to their intelligent and efficient communication with artificial intelligence; that increase the control and analytics of spaces and digitize the industrial logistics chain with computer vision; or that automate the control and analysis of water infrastructures in cities with robotics.

“They are disruptive and sustainable technologies of today and tomorrow that, ultimately, digitize their sectors and, by extension, improve people’s lives. We want to have entrepreneurs who can turn the greatest needs into great opportunities, ”says Patricia Pastor, managing director of GoHub.

Benefits for startups

The acceleration program is designed for easy startup integration from day one and has the following characteristics:

· A duration of six to nine months and an investment of up to 150,000 euros per startup, with a plan tailored to needs.

· A management team with great entrepreneurial experience that will facilitate the work every day and with whom to count whenever it is needed.

· Entrepreneurs can settle in at GoHub’s headquarter, a spectacular, state-of-the-art 2,500-meter office in Valencia, or have their space in Barcelona (Pier01, Barcelona Tech City) or in its other hub in Seville.

· A prestigious staff of GoHub Experts: relevant experts from the sector involved as board members or advisors who provide differential strategic value.

· Help to validate the technology and the business model through billable proofs of concept.

· Connection activated from day one with the investor ecosystem both nationally and internationally.

· Support in the correct market product fit from technology to market with the use of Google Ventures methodologies such as Design Sprints.

The selected startups will therefore enjoy strategic, technological and financial support. As if that were not enough, they will benefit from the synergies offered by the group’s corporate ecosystem, in which GoHub’s agility and disruption are compounded by the solvency and financial support of Global Omnium and the power to open new markets from Idrica.

Requirements for startups

It is an exclusive program and, although the requirements are not extensive or complex, they must all be met to be part of GoHub:

· Possess a digital technological base and have a first proof of concept or validation of the technology.

· Team, traction and vision: founders with the necessary know-how to create solutions in accordance with the values of the hub.

· Market, impact and scalability: a scalable startup with a large target market that solves a real problem.

GoHub promotes responsible investment, defined by environmental sustainability that is in its DNA, as well as respect for human beings and their working conditions; and for transparency, ethics and good corporate governance practices. Since its creation in 2019, it has invested more than 10 million euros in the 21 startups that make up its portfolio.
