Fundación Repsol has launched the 15th edition of its Entrepreneurs Fund program, an acceleration initiative aimed at technology-based startups developing innovative solutions to advance the energy transition in areas such as energy efficiency, water management, renewable energies, circular economy, renewable fuels and materials, CO₂ capture, digitalization and advanced mobility.

Selected startups will take part in a customized 12-month acceleration program that includes funding of up to €120,000 through a convertible loan, support from a team of specialized mentors, and the opportunity to validate their technology and carry out pilot projects in real operating environments, the foundation said in a statement.

Interested companies can submit their applications via the online form available on Fundación Repsol’s website until March 15, 2026.

Since its creation in 2011, the Entrepreneurs Fund has supported 88 startups, with a survival rate of over 65%. These companies have developed more than 2,000 prototypes, raised over €1.1 billion from national and international investors, and created more than 900 jobs.

Boosting entrepreneurship for a sustainable energy transition

Each year, Fundación Repsol supports between five and seven companies that are validating their solutions with real customers, helping them turn their projects into commercial solutions in the shortest possible time. All of them share the goal of contributing to a more sustainable energy transition.

One of the program’s key differentiating features is its tailor-made acceleration model, which adapts support to the specific needs of each startup. To this end, entrepreneurial teams are backed by a group of mentors with expertise in both technology and business development.

This mentoring team is made up of active professionals from the Repsol Technology Lab and various business units of the company, together with former Repsol executives with extensive experience in business creation and growth, who provide technical and strategic guidance.

In addition, selected startups will receive financial support of up to €120,000 over one year through a convertible loan to boost the development of their proposals.

Startups will also receive support to validate their technology under real operating conditions and may deploy pilot projects in collaboration with Repsol professionals at the company’s industrial facilities.

The program is complemented by legal and commercial advisory services, visibility through Fundación Repsol’s communication channels, and access to new networking opportunities.

The selected companies will be announced in September 2026 and the 12-month acceleration program will begin in October 2026. During this period, startups will not be required to relocate.

The call is international in scope and is aimed at technology-based SMEs in the pre-commercial stage developing innovative solutions in renewable fuels and materials, CO₂ capture and circular economy, energy efficiency and competitiveness, water management, renewable energies, advanced mobility and digitalization applied to industry.

A strategic commitment to the energy transition

The Entrepreneurs Fund is one of the pillars of Fundación Repsol’s strategy focused on the energy transition and society, in line with Repsol’s and its foundation’s commitment to innovation, knowledge and people, according to the organization.

First, it emphasizes investment in companies that promote a sustainable and inclusive energy transition, generating positive environmental, social and economic impact.

Second, it operates a business accelerator aimed at supporting innovative technology-based solutions in energy and mobility.

In addition, Fundación Repsol promotes knowledge dissemination on the energy transition through Open Room, a network of university chairs on energy transition, and Zinkers, digital educational programs designed to raise awareness among young people about future energy challenges.

Finally, the foundation highlights its support for social and volunteering projects linked to the energy transition, aimed at fostering social development
